[Chapter 276: Watching Movies]
"Who did you choose for the female lead?"
Link shifted away from discussing his date with Diane Lane and turned the conversation to work.
"Do you know Joan Allen? She used to be a Broadway actress, has won a Tony Award, and is incredibly talented. Her looks and presence are strong, making her perfect for the role of a dominant wife."
Jodie Foster handed him a dossier to review.
Joan Allen was 39 that year, having made her Broadway debut in 1980. She won the highest honors for American theater and musicals, the Tony Award, twice. By 1985, she moved to Hollywood, taking on minor roles in several films and only gaining modest recognition at that time.
After reviewing the information, Link recognized the actress as the original lead in Hachi: A Dog's Tale. Although not well-known then, she would later rise to fame through movies like Nixon, Face/Off, and The Bourne Identity, becoming one of Hollywood's more recognized supporting actresses.
"Why are you looking for so long? You won't even spare an older woman?"
Jodie Foster waved her hand dismissively in front of him, her face showing a hint of mischief.
Link looked at her, wondering if he should just pin her down on the coffee table.
"Who are you casting for the role of Andy's daughter?"
"Why do you want to know? Are you trying to shove your girlfriend into the cast? That's probably not going to fly. We have to choose the actress for the daughter based on the leads' appearances; you can't just throw anyone in."
"Am I trying to shove her in? I'm the producer here! Can't I just ask?"
"Alright, it's Cameron Diaz. She did well in The Mask, and she's quite beautiful. Wait a minute, The Mask is a film by Guess Pictures, and she's the lead in it, which makes her your woman?! Link, , you're too much, you keep taking advantage of every woman in Hollywood, are you?"
Jodie Foster scoffed.
Link shook his head, "I don't know about other women, but I definitely won't let you go."
"Hmph, don't get your hopes up. I won't give you that chance."
Jodie crossed her arms, adopting a defensive posture.
"Do you have time? How about we go see a movie together?"
"Are you trying to use this trick to charm me? It won't work; I'm not falling for it."
Jodie huffed.
"If you feel scared, you can always say no."
"Who's scared? I'd never back down from watching a movie, even if it's an adult film."
Jodie stood up.
Link chuckled and invited her to catch the drama film, Disclosure, screening that week.
...
Disclosure starred Michael Douglas and Demi Moore and revolved around a male subordinate fighting back against sexual harassment from his female superior. It was a slightly risque yet serious movie.
While watching, Jodie Foster complimented Demi Moore's sexiness, expressing how she'd like to sleep with her and asked if he felt the same.
Link was speechless; lesbians could have such a unique way of thinking. Approaching her with that angle clearly wouldn't work.
...
After watching the movie with Jodie, Link took advantage of the break to watch movies with Winona Ryder, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez.
After having shared a bed with him, Winona had lost some of her melancholic air but was still clingy. When not filming, she often called him to share her mood and sometimes wrote love poems or invited him to celebrate anniversaries.
Angelina, on the other hand, focused on physical experiences. Since their last encounter, she frequently asked him out on dates.
As for Jennifer Lopez, with his support, she was currently getting training at UTA to make her debut in the music industry, preparing to navigate both acting and singing careers.
