CHAPTER 28
If Aurora could only drown herself from all the thoughts that were bothering her, she could have done so. She did some laps in the pool. She wouldn't get sunburned anyway because of the pool shade. She easily got sunburned because of her sensitive skin; that was why they installed a shade in their pool.
She wanted to invite Ade over, but they had a family outing. So, she had no ally for now.
Some time later, a maid approached Sofia and Adolfo, conveying that their guest had arrived. They ordered the maid to guide him to the pool area and bring some snacks for everyone. The couple exchanged glances and eyed their daughter, who was still dipping in the water.
After a minute, a young man was walking towards their direction. They stood up and greeted their godson. How he looked so gorgeous, and he really was the best match for their daughter.
"Max, you've gotten more handsome." Sofia greeted him, and he took each of their hands to lightly touch his forehead. It was one of the Filipino gestures for respect.
"How are you, son?" Adolfo tapped Max's shoulder and offered a seat across from him. Max propped the briefcase in his hand on the seat beside him.
"I'm fine po. Kayo po, kumusta? (How about you?)" He respectfully responded to his godparents. His attention shifted to the pool when there was a noise of someone who jumped on it. But she couldn't see who it was as that someone dove deeper to the pool floor.
"Oh, we're fine. You didn't tell us you were coming yesterday. Aurora could have gone together with you." Sofia answered.
He immediately looked at the couple before him. "She's here?" His surprised question.
"Yes. Over there." Adolfo turned his gaze to his daughter, who was swimming like she had no care in the world. He wasn't sure if she was just pretending that she didn't notice Max was with them already, but she couldn't be swimming the whole time while his godson was there.
"Aurora!" Sofia called her daughter. She wanted to hook her up like a fish out of the water.
God! They didn't have to call her. She noticed him instantly when he entered the pool area; that was why she jumped in the water so they wouldn't call for her. She planned to pretend that she didn't see him until he was gone. But she knew that would be impossible for her parents to let her.
Though she didn't want to face him, she still felt excited about it. So, she complied with the call. She swam to the nearest rail stairs to them. She was confident in herself wearing a bikini. She had the navy-blue ones that brought out her complexion.
She had toned muscles in her arms, core, and legs. She had a model-perfect body that some families in the entertainment industry wanted to hire her whenever they saw her in Elte Ball. But she wasn't interested in that thing, so she always turned down the offers.
She grabbed the railing and pulled herself up. Her long hair cascaded behind her.
Max was oblivious that he was anticipating her getting out of the water. It seemed like everything was in slow motion. Her beautiful and innocent-looking face turned into a seductive siren out of the water. From her sexy collarbone and shoulder blades. Her round and firm-looking globes were restrained by the piece of cloth. It wasn't that revealing, but her cleavage didn't want to be hidden. Her toned abdomen and small waist. These luscious curves were a perfect hourglass body. Added to that were her toned, long legs that looked silky smooth. Her body was almost glowing in his vision. Those dripping water on her skin looked so tempting to be licked at.
She gestured with her finger for a maid to come close. She said something to her, and the maid nodded and left. Then she turned her attention to them. Her eyes were on him while approaching.
She smiled and stopped right in front of him. "Hey, Max. Kumusta ka? Hindi na tayo masyadong nagkakasalubong sa school. (How are you? We rarely see each other at school.)" She said while reaching for the robe from the back of the chair, where he propped the briefcase, he brought. She wore the robe, and the wonderful view was gone. But he couldn't stop following her every move.
"Yes. I'm mostly busy with presentations and proposals." He was glad that he was able to answer that.
"Excuse me." She came closer to the side of his chair and crouched down on him. Though she had a robe on, her cleavage was still on display, and he got a closer look when she almost hovered above him.
She was reaching for something in front of him. He didn't look at what it was as he just gulped from what was right in front of him. He did not mind that some water droplets were dripping from her hair that stuck to her face.
He caught her flowery scent. He felt intoxicated just from a whiff. He swallowed hard. When she stood up straight, she brought the canned soda to his lips. And he felt thirsty as well that he wanted to grab the drink from her.
His throat seemed dry. He felt hot, though it was chilly around them from the fresh breeze of the trees that surrounded the area. Aurora glanced at her while the soda was still on her lips.
She stopped drinking and offered it to him. "You want some?" She was smiling as she asked.
"Yes." His automatic reply that he hadn't thought of what it meant. "Uh, no, no." He shook his head and everted his gaze finally. He couldn't think straight while looking at her. He seemed like he was in a trance. He cleared his throat, and he just noticed that his godparents were looking at him.
Fuck. How humiliating. What would they think of me when they saw my reaction to their only daughter?
"Are you sure? I can ask a maid to bring one here, or you can have mine." There was a glint of naughtiness in her eyes. "You look thirsty." He did not miss that seductive smile on her lips.
Thirsty of you. His sinful thought. He shook his head again to clear his mind. She was not teasing her openly.
"Should we go inside to my office, son?" Adolfo asked.
He was thankful of his interruption. "Yes." He answered too eagerly, wanting to get out of there. To get away from temptation. "It's fine, Aurora." She said to her and stood up top follow his godfather with a laptop in his hand. Adolfo saying something to a maid at the side.
"Okay. It's nice seeing you, Max." She said and turned to the maid beside her and got her phone.
"Let's go. We'll have the refreshments there." Aurora's father stated and he followed him after bidding excusing himself to the two ladies.
He wasn't looking at Aurora anymore because of what she did to his mind.
Aurora finished her soda and propped it on the table. Her father and Max went inside the mansion already. She knew that she affected him and had teased the guy for it. She was just amused in his reaction.
She pulled a chair and sat herself down. She opened her phone to see the notifications.
"Not interested, huh?" Her mother was starting again. Sofia's brows raised when she looked at her. She was daring her to say otherwise because of what she witnessed.
She sighed. "I was just teasing him."
"It's a good start." She shrugged while she smiled at her. "But you can do better than that."
She rolled her eyes. "I don't want to scare him right away."
Sofia stood up and approached her. "I'm happy that you like him, anak." She tapped her shoulder. "Hindi ka naman naming ipagtutulakan ng papa mo kung ayaw mo talaga sa kanya. (Me and your father wouldn't force you if you didn't like him.)" She added. "By the way, mind your temper later." She gave her a stern tone and left her, going inside.
"Can't promise." She mumbled under her breath. Though she felt a little excited for what to come in the evening.
