CHAPTER 49
Aurora tilted her head up to meet his piercing gaze. She had to steel herself even though her insides were melting because of what she'd heard from Ade. She didn't want to know how he was feeling now for she couldn't understand her own. She just knew that she doesn't like what her friend said. She hated it.
She waited for him to go on fist for she didn't know what to say.
Max finally averted his gaze from her, and he exhaled loudly, tousling his hair back. Her eyes bore on him. He had a lot of things to say to her. He wanted to scold her of what she'd done earlier but he shouldn't impulsive in his anger towards her. Auroa somehow protected him. He bet she had been traumatized again by what happened. His mind was in a mess and he didn't know what to say first. But he had to talk to her about Paula. To clear things up.
"Are you okay?" His first question. She was still his childhood friend. So, he couldn't be that angry at her.
