Chapter 25: Revelations
Ines stayed asleep in her hospital bed…
Outside the room, in a corridor, Raphael paced back and forth, unable to sit still.
He refused to believe that Ines's father wasn't the one behind this kidnapping…
"Stop overthinking," Marco told him, but he didn't listen.~
He was Raphael's longtime friend, with a rugged face and soft-spoken tongue, and was one of the few people Raphael trusted completely.
"Raphael, you're not getting any sleep if you keep pacing like that," Marco said, offering a sympathetic smile.
Raphael stopped for a moment, leaning against the wall.
"I can't, Marco. I need to know where Ines is in all of this. I know there's more to it than Lucian's schemes, but I refused to believe that her father isn't involved. It just doesn't add up."
Marco frowned. "I've seen your face when you talk about her father… You're convinced that Diego's hands are this dirty?"
"No!" Raphael snapped, then exhaled, his voice softened immediately.
