I walked into my room, shutting the door behind me, trying to process the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside me. Ethan's words kept echoing in my mind, "that's because you soon would be mine." I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my chest.
As I leaned against the door, I heard a faint knock. "Cami, can I come in?" Ethan's voice was soft and gentle.
I hesitated for a moment before opening the door. Ethan stood in the doorway, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
"What's up?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
"I just wanted to make sure you're okay," Ethan said, his expression turning serious. "You seemed a bit overwhelmed earlier."
I shrugged, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I'm fine, just a bit stressed."
Ethan nodded understandingly. "I get it. We've all been under a lot of pressure lately."
He paused, looking at me intently. "Cami, can I ask you something?"
"Sure," I replied, curiosity getting the better of me.
"Do you believe in fate?" Ethan asked, his eyes locked on mine.
I was taken aback by the question. "I...I don't know," I stuttered.
Ethan smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I do," he said, his voice low and husky. "I believe that some things are meant to be."
He took a step closer to me, his eyes burning with intensity. "And I believe that you and I...we're meant to be."
My heart skipped a beat as Ethan's words hung in the air. I felt like I was drowning in the depths of his eyes, unable to look away.
What did he mean? Was he saying that he felt something for me too?
I tried to speak, but my voice caught in my throat. Ethan's eyes seemed to bore into my soul, as if he could see the turmoil brewing inside me.
Just get ready, pack everything necessary he said, I looked at him surprised, we leaving today? I asked caught off guard.
But he just smiled And then, just as suddenly as he had appeared, Ethan turned and walked away, leaving me standing there, feeling bewildered and confused.
What had just happened?
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. I needed to get a grip on my emotions, figure out what was going on.
But as I turned to walk back into my room, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life was about to change in ways I never could have imagined.
I got to the bathroom to freshen up first, I needed to calm my nerves. I got out and put on a simple dress, a nice floral patterned gown and a slipper. I tied my hair up in a ponytail and started to pack up my things.
I packed just a few of my things necessary, we shouldn't be spending much time there since we haven't dealt with Sophie I thought to myself, but where actually are we going I had forget to ask a while ago, I finished packing up and was about to go down when a voice called from outside the door.
Miss camila? The voice called.
who is it, I asked wearily, I mean no harm mam I'm just one of the maids and your attention is needed downstairs, everyone is waiting she said. Ohh I said opening the door, I'm actually done I said to the young lady, she smiled and bowed her head to me attempting to Carry my bag, no that's something I can do I said grabbing my bag back, mam I'm here to assist you down so I should be doing that it's an order from Mr ethan, I smiled at her and handed her the bag muttering thanks.
This was the first time I'm seeing someone aside ivy and Ethan in this house and it felt nice. How did they manage of stay out of sight all this while, I thought still smiling. We got down from the stairs to meet Ethan and ivy waiting already, both had simple clothes on too. Ethan came over to and took my hand leading me to the car outside, we got in and drove off. We got in a separate car from ivy so it was just me Ethan and the driver in the car, the car has been silent since the drive and it felt awkward.
Where we going I said trying to break the silence, he looked at me and smiled you would know he said, I just nodded my head and the car fell back silent.
Cami? I heard the faint familiar voice, cami the voice came again with a slight tapping on my shoulder I opened my eyes rubbing it while I yawned, I looked around and saw Ethan and the driver waiting, we are here ethan said smiling at me, I'm sorry i doozed of for a bit I quickly apologized feeling embarrassed and ethan just nodded and kept smiling, i got of the car and stood mouth apart realizing where we were, it was an airport, I looked at ethan surprised, what are we doing here i asked confused, he handed me my visa and other necessary things, I looked at him moee surprised, when did you prepare all this i asked him but he didn't say a word and just kept smiling, i smiled back at himself as we all went in.
isn't moving out of the country a bit too much, I mean we haven't handled the issues we have with Sophie and we haven't been to work since for a month now and now you want to travel? I asked him, he looked at me and smiled just enjoy your vacation my sunshine he said still smiling, I quickly looked away from him feeling the familiar hotness rush up my face. why would you suddenly call me that I said muttering to myself and he just smiled looking less bothered about any other thing but the vacation.
