"Beatrice!" Noran cut her off, his tone sending a clear warning not to say more.
Beatrice immediately understood and fell silent.
Shuri was startled.
Did she hear that right? Had Noran been looking for her for eight years?
She wanted to question them, but Noran's reaction made it clear this wasn't something he wanted to discuss at the moment.
"Beatrice, bring Snowball back first," Noran instructed.
Beatrice obeyed and took Snowball from Shuri.
Snowball whined, unwilling to leave Shuri's side.
Shuri petted him gently, her voice softening. "I'll see you later, Snowball. Be a good boy, alright?"
Beatrice smiled at Shuri. "You can come over anytime. I'll be staying at my brother's place for another week until my own house is ready. See you later, Miss Lee."
Shuri nodded with a smile. "See you later, Miss Kingston."
After Beatrice left, Shuri tried to walk past Noran, but he gently held her by her wrist.
"Rin, we still need to talk."
