"Adéle," I grumbled. "I've been busy. There's a lot on my plate." I tried to keep the irritation from showing too much.
"Now, where's your father? I need to see him," I said. Since the person who was supposed to take me to him is wasting so much time, I better ask another who might know where he is.
Adéle laughed lightly and wrapped her arms around me in a quick hug before stepping back with a mischievous look in her eye.
"You always say you're busy, Gonzalo. But you never take the time for us. I have missed you," she said.
This isn't helping. "I am sure you know how much your father hates being kept waiting," I said as I gently stepped back.
"Daddy would pardon you if he knows you're with me."
"What do you want, Adéle?" I asked, wanting to get this over with.
"Stop acting like some stuck up," she said with her nose in the air. "I promise, you'll love what I've planned today, Daddy told me you were coming in and I got to work."
"What plans?" I indulged her.
