After the meeting, as everyone began packing up their things, Mikey turned to me. His eyes, deep and thoughtful, met mine. Those eyes that I was once head over heels for.
"Selena," he said softly, "do you mind if we talk privately for a moment?"
There was a seriousness in his tone that made my heart skip. I did mind, but then again I was curious to know what he wanted to talk to me about. I nodded, trying to hide the mix of curiosity and uncertainty swirling inside me.
Mr. Lindholm and Clara, who had been with us during the meeting, excused themselves politely and left us alone. Although, Clara did give me a nasty look.
We both sat back down again and I prepared to listen to what he wanted to say to me.
Mikey leaned forward, his gaze locked onto mine as if searching for answers hidden behind my eyes.
