Queen Caroline sat in the war chamber of the Summer Palace, at the table staring at maps and plans drawn for a war they still had yet to prepare for.
The door behind her creaked open but she didn't turn around thinking it was only Casimir. She let out a soft gasp when the voice said.
"I knew I might find you here." Cyrus's voice was smooth, like the chill air of Spring itself, but there was an edge to it tonight. She could sense it.
She turned meeting his emerald green eyes framed by head full of wavy blonde hair. His handsome face was usually unreadable but tonight he looked apologetic. Something she had not expected from him.
"I am wondering why you are here," Caroline said quietly, folding her arms.
"I've been watching. Gathering information. The rebellion grows, and we both know it threatens the balance of the courts. I've decided, for the sake of stability... I will stand with you." He said as he walked towards her.
