Sophia stormed out of the restaurant, covering her face with both hands, clearly overwhelmed with emotion. Her brother Noah silently followed behind her.
As soon as they were outside, she exploded.
"Are you really my brother? Ava slapped me right in front of you, and you didn't stand up for me at all! Instead, you acted like I was the one causing trouble and dragged me away?"
Noah glanced at her. Five bright red fingerprints were clearly visible on her cheek. His expression darkened.
"What exactly did you say to her that made her hit you so hard?" His voice was low.
"I just said her grandma died at the perfect time, like it was fate or something, just in time to stop her and Liam from getting divorced. Was that really so awful?"
Of course, she'd said it on purpose—to provoke Ava and use it to gain sympathy from Liam.
But unfortunately, this time Ava struck first, and even Liam didn't help her. Sophia's plan completely backfired. She was seething with frustration.
