Something felt wrong.
No matter how much she tried to rationalize it, nothing about the situation made sense.
She was supposed to be nothing more than a remnant—an embodiment of Seele's discarded negative emotions. Her heart should have been filled with nothing but resentment, sorrow, and pain.
So why… why did her emotions shift so easily, just because of a simple interaction with Seele?
She realized it without warning. Someone like her—created as a vessel for everything ugly—had reacted to Lunelle's touch with a strange emotion. Something faint and fluttering. Something dangerously close to… shyness. A feeling she should never be capable of.
And when Lunelle held her hand, she noticed it clearly. Her once illusory form, lacking any substance, had begun to stabilize. To solidify. Because of that one gentle touch.
Could it be… even her existence itself was changing?
That thought alone was enough to shake her. "Blood-Eyed Seele," formed entirely from negative emotion, couldn't keep up with the way Lunelle moved, spoke, or smiled. Every little thing Lunelle did left her reeling.
The only reason she was still here—still clinging to the world—was because of a single, obsessive emotion.
That obsession had always been directed at the original Seele. The Seele who lived in the Previous Era before the Honkai began its corrosion.
Back then, Seele had endured more pain than anyone could imagine. From the moment she was born, her life had been shaped by cruelty and loss.
Yet because of her low status, Seele had learned to be a "good girl." She forced herself to smile, to stay quiet, to bury every negative feeling so deeply that even she forgot they were there. No matter how cruelly others treated her, she endured it without complaint.
But even if the mind can lie, the heart cannot.
Negative emotions don't simply vanish. They fester. They accumulate.
And in time, all of those buried feelings took shape—becoming something else entirely.
They became her.
Blood-Eyed Seele.
She wasn't just a swirl of emotions. She was real—because she held all of Seele Vollerei's pain. All the memories the original Seele refused to acknowledge.
In truth, she was more Seele than the girl who smiled through the pain.
She could even be seen as a second self. A darker, more honest Seele.
Blood-Eyed Seele was impulsive, angry, and harsh. But even so, she had never once tried to overpower Seele or take control.
Because deep down, even someone like her felt a faint warmth when she was near Seele. A strange, precious feeling—utterly unlike anything else in her world of misery.
That single thread of warmth… was all she had.
So even while cursing Seele out loud, her body never lied. She took on Seele's pain. Carried every wound and burden without hesitation.
Because in her heart, Seele was her only salvation.
As long as that warmth remained, no matter how unbearable things became, she would endure.
All she'd ever wanted was that small act of kindness. But in the end…
Seele left her behind.
She chose death.
Why?
All the pain Seele couldn't bear, all the truths she couldn't accept—hadn't she already taken them on?
Wasn't that her role!?
She had already endured it all!
So why did that coward, who had never truly suffered, still choose to run away and die!?
Why!?
When the final power swept through and Seele's last fragments of consciousness vanished, Blood-Eyed Seele snapped.
The only thing that had ever kept her grounded was gone.
Why?
Why did she suffer through everything alone, while Seele got to disappear?
That girl never carried the pain, never shouldered the suffering. And yet she had the audacity to give up over something so petty—
Being forced into a marriage she didn't want? That was enough to break her?
At the edge of disappearance, Blood-Eyed Seele clung to one last obsession.
If this world was so unfair—then let it feel what she had felt.
Why should she be the only one to suffer?
If her agony was unending, then let the rest of the world bear it too.
And Seele—the one who ran away—she would pay for it.
She would be made to understand every bit of the torment that had been forced on her.
Until that happened, Blood-Eyed Seele refused to die.
Fueled by that single, terrible obsession, she endured. Even as the Sea of Quanta and the power of the End crushed her space of consciousness.
But now, the one who caused all that pain was standing in front of her.
And still… why?
Why was it that when this girl reached out and held her hand…
The obsession that had once consumed her began to waver?
It was unbearable.
Damn it—!
She wanted to pull her hand back. To slap Lunelle's face. To demand an explanation. Why had Lunelle so casually left her behind? Why hadn't she cared?
But those hands… they were too warm.
If this idiot had shown her this warmth from the start… would everything have been different?
Just as she was about to lose herself again, her thoughts scattered.
Then, Lunelle spoke.
"Seele… there's something I've always wanted to say to you."
Her hand tightened around Blood-Eyed Seele's. Her ocean-blue eyes shimmered with a quiet, hesitant light. She looked nervous.
Blood-Eyed Seele froze.
Why did this girl suddenly seem… so delicate?
So… infuriatingly adorable?
Lunelle clearly believed this might be her last chance. That if she didn't speak now, she would disappear. There would be no next time.
She hesitated. Struggled.
And then, eyes squeezed shut, she said it.
For the first time, with her whole heart.
"Seele!!! I… I… I like you!!!"
Blood-Eyed Seele: "Eh?????? o(////`Д′////)q!!"

T/N: Blood-Eyed Seele, would techinicaly be Veliona.
But here's the thing: Veliona isn't actually her canon name. After all, the original Chinese game didn't have a specific name for Dark Seele, which is why the fanfic is calling her Blood Eyed Seele, cause she has red eyes.
Veliona only came because of the Stygian Nymph battle suit, localized to Veliona and Saule respectively, then overseas fans just attached the name Veliona to Seele's alter ego.
Since this is a CN fanfic, there isn't a specific modifier for Veliona other than Blood Eyed Seele.
So here's the thing:
If you guys want it to be Veliona, just comment if you do, cause I won't really care, its just a little more effort, not that annoying.
If not, I'll just keep Blood-Eyed Seele.
But because the Fanfiction is Chinese, and they don't really recognize Veliona, Lunelle just calls Veliona Seele, because she is seele, and they don't have other names for her. But I can change the descriptions for the reader even though Lunelle doesn't recognize Veliona as a name.
If you guys do want it to be Veliona, the changes will start for tomorrow's 5 chapters.
