Chapter 37 - Eye to Eye

While Hana waited for the subway, she put her phone in her pocket and adjusted the strap of her bag. She took a deep breath. She was feeling good today.

Just then, a few familiar faces caught her attention. Hyunwoo, Aerin, and some of their mutual friends.

Hana stayed where she was, without taking her eyes off them. She could have ignored them, but why bother? She didn't really care anyway.

However, that wasn't the case for everyone else.

FromHyunwoo'sPerspective

The moment Hyunwoo saw Hana, his breath caught for a moment.

She had always been a beautiful girl, yes. But today... she looked completely different.

Her white tight top and high-waisted mini skirt were effortlessly perfect. The leather jacket gave her a slightly rebellious air, while her slightly wavy hair and natural makeup created an attractive contrast.

Aerin beside him shifted slightly. But Hyunwoo, without even realizing it, couldn't take his eyes off Hana.

"Wow, is that Hana?" Sangho muttered.

Taemin whistled lightly. "She's really leveled up."

"No wonder Hyunwoo stayed with her for so long," Jungho said with a mocking expression.

Hyunwoo clenched his jaw and smiled faintly.

Why were they noticing this now?

FromHana'sPerspective

"Hana?"

When Hyunwoo's voice echoed right in front of her, Hana raised her eyebrows slightly but didn't immediately respond.

Her eyes briefly flickered to Hyunwoo's face, but then she casually looked away.

"You guys are here too?"

"Yes," Hyunwoo said with a slight smile. "We're not used to seeing you like this."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know... you have a different vibe."

A short, almost mocking smile appeared on Hana's face. "Is that so?"

"You know it too," Jungho added.

Hana shrugged. "Do I?"

Hyunwoo took a small step closer to her. "By the way, how have you been?"

Hana glanced at the sign showing when the subway would arrive. She didn't really feel like talking.

"Good," she replied briefly.

Hyunwoo leaned in slightly and lowered his voice. "Didn't you miss me?"

Hana slightly turned her head. There wasn't a hint of emotion on her face.

"What!?"

Hyunwoo wasn't prepared for that response. He cleared his throat lightly and tried to smile.

"Well, I mean... after all…"

"Hyunwoo," Hana calmly interrupted him. "I don't think we have anything to talk about."

Hyunwoo couldn't continue his sentence. Hana's indifference... it bothered him.

When the subway doors opened, Hana stepped inside without even looking at any of them. Not once did she look back.

---

Hyunwoo was left standing with the others.

"That stung," Jungho said with a laugh.

Hyunwoo clenched his teeth. A few days ago, he had been the one to break up with her. But now... he couldn't even catch her attention.

And he didn't like it one bit.
