Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: Adventurer

After pondering for a moment, he got up with some difficulty.

Was the other party really not the black-clothed man who called himself Shadow?

But in his impression, who else besides his older brother could have such vast magic power?

With these thoughts, Rudeus left the corridor and returned to his room.

Roa went back to his bed and took a nap, and when he woke up, he felt that his spirit was even more full.

Although Roa had a lot of magic power, it was still limited. The previous exchange had directly cost him almost one-thirtieth of his total amount, nearly emptying him. So, taking a nap to replenish his mana wasn't excessive, right?

He woke up, glanced at the sky, and estimated the time to be around eight o'clock. Roa's sleep wasn't long. He put on his shoes, got out of bed, washed up a bit, and then headed towards the living room.

Because of the kidnapping, Roa and Ghislaine had discussed it a bit and decided to give Eris a day off.

After all, they were home tutors with a sense of humanity. They couldn't force her to attend classes the day after she was kidnapped.

But after the day off, Roa was a bit idle. After thinking about it a bit, he decided to go to the Adventurers' Guild and register.

If nothing else, being an adventurer had some use. After all, this world was one of swords and magic, and the most abundant profession was that of adventurers.

Moreover, powerful adventurers not only had a louder reputation, but it was also easier to make money.

Most importantly, it allowed him to build his own faction faster. If he didn't become an adventurer beforehand, it would be difficult to use that identity when it was crucial.

With that thought, Roa decided to set off, leaving the mansion and heading towards the town.

The number of merchants on the road gradually increased, and the number of pedestrians also began to rise. The morning was the start of the day, and their busy figures were constantly preparing the goods they would sell today.

The taverns and red-light districts filled with the scent of rouge hadn't opened yet, but most of the other restaurants had already opened their doors.

Roa frowned as he asked a horse dealer about the price of horses.

The horse dealer was a rugged man, six feet tall, a head taller than Roa. Seeing a handsome young man approach, the horse dealer smiled from ear to ear. He pointed to a glossy, chestnut-colored horse and said to the boy, "This horse is bright! Look at the luster, look at the build, look at the muscles! It's worth at least this much."

The horse dealer held up three fingers. Roa frowned and asked, "Three copper coins?"

Hearing that, the horse dealer's face fell. He looked at Roa with some anger and said, "Three copper coins? Are you trying to insult me?"

Roa smiled, took out three silver coins from his pocket, and handed them to the horse dealer. The rugged man's face lit up again. He handed the reins to the boy and waved, signaling that he could take the horse away.

After Roa took the reins, he suddenly remembered a crucial thing: he didn't seem to have ever actually ridden a horse.

The horse was very docile, going wherever it was led, which relieved Roa.

Roa tried to mount the horse, but was warned by a soldier that he wasn't allowed to ride horses in the city.

Roa reluctantly dismounted and asked a passerby if there was an Adventurers' Guild nearby. The passerby gave the boy a smile that he thought was friendly and pointed in a direction. Roa looked at the direction the passerby was pointing and was a bit confused. Roa said, "Is there anything else? Like, how to get there?"

The passerby smiled mysteriously and just said, "You'll see it if you keep going. That place is quite conspicuous. Young man, is this your first time in town? You didn't notice such an obvious place."

Confused, he followed the direction the passerby pointed and circled around, and actually found it.

The Adventurers' Guild was next to a tavern, and not far from a red-light district. Roa put his hand to his forehead. No wonder they said it was conspicuous. The Adventurers' Guild had chosen a prime location.

Roa tied the horse to the Adventurers' Guild's entrance and walked inside.

How should he put it? It was a very spacious room, over two hundred square meters, easily accommodating twenty or thirty people. It was deserted at the moment. A girl, probably seventeen or eighteen years old, was sitting at the front, yawning. Her appearance wasn't exquisite, only describable as pretty. There weren't many people here in the morning. The boy was the only person in the hall at the entrance, making the hall seem deserted.

The boy walked into the guild, and the girl glanced at Roa casually. Just as she was about to look away, she seemed to notice something. Her eyes widened and she looked at Roa's face again.

Of course, Roa wasn't using his original appearance. He had slightly disguised himself, making his features more masculine. And you know what? Just by changing it a bit, he instantly went from a good-looking person to a very handsome guy.

A pretty face, distinct features, a pair of sword-like eyebrows, bright eyes, a high nose bridge, and other such words all gathered on one person, making him a very handsome man.

He was definitely the most handsome guy the girl had ever seen. In an instant, she woke up from her drowsiness and carefully examined the boy with curiosity.

His beautiful hair was casually parted in the middle, revealing the boy's pretty face. His steps were powerful and steady, and his hands had many calluses, indicating that the boy was a trained martial artist. His clothes weren't made of the finest silk, but they weren't shabby either, indicating that he came from a middle-class family.

She had never seen such a handsome young man before. Seeing him curiously looking around, she knew he was a newbie. He was probably here to register as an adventurer.

The girl felt that her IQ had reached 100 in that instant. She had guessed his purpose with almost perfect accuracy from the boy's various details.

Seeing Roa walking towards her, a faint blush appeared on her face. She coughed lightly, silently cheering herself on in her heart.

After all, it was rare to see such a pretty and pleasing young man in this guild, which was usually full of men or demihumans.

Roa walked to the counter and greeted the girl, "Hello, my name is Roa Greyrat. You can call me Roa."

Seeing Roa's face up close, the girl felt butterflies in her stomach and her heart beat faster. Her ears turned red, and the girl, who was usually able to mingle with everyone, stuttered a bit, "Meave Penia. You can call me Meave."

Roa smiled and said politely, "Meave, huh? That's a nice name."

The girl felt that that "Meave" was like heavenly music. She froze there, giggling foolishly.

Seeing her spacing out, Roa couldn't help but say, "Um, I'd like to register as an adventurer."

Meave snapped back to reality and said to the boy, "An adventurer? If you register, you'll have to start as an E-rank adventurer."
