Chapter 61 - One Versus One Hundred

After arriving at the parking lot, Ye Chen stored his sports car inside the Fairy Gate. Ever since discovering that the Fairy Gate's storage space was much larger than his usual storage ring, he had moved nearly all his belongings there.

Instead of driving back, Ye Chen took to the skies and flew home—faster, quieter, and more efficient.

Upon arriving at his villa, he stepped into the Fairy Gate. To his disappointment, Zhao Yanyan wasn't there.

"Looking for someone?" a calm voice said beside him.

Ye Chen turned to see Chu Yuechan standing silently nearby.

"Yuechan, has Yanyan been here recently?" he asked.

"She came after school," Chu Yuechan replied. "I trained her for several hours. She's probably resting now."

Ye Chen frowned slightly. "What kind of training? I hope you didn't push her too hard."

Chu Yuechan raised a brow. "She needs both physical and mental endurance if she wants to improve. While her cultivation level is decent, her body strength is lacking. So yes, I trained her intensively."

Ye Chen let out a sigh. He understood. Cultivation wasn't just about energy—discipline and endurance were equally vital. He remembered the grueling sessions under Gu Xuan's guidance: 200 push-ups, sit-ups, squats, 200 lifts of 200 kilograms, and a 20-kilometer run. That training had forged him into the cultivator he was today.

With Zhao Yanyan resting, Ye Chen decided to cultivate on his own.

By the time he finished and emerged from the Fairy Gate, dawn had already broken. He took a quick shower and headed to school on foot, choosing not to draw attention by using his flashy car.

As he walked along his usual route, he noticed something odd. The streets were unusually empty. Normally, students and pedestrians filled this path. Today, there was no one.

Suspicious, Ye Chen activated his spirit sense—and immediately picked up the presence of about a hundred people lying in ambush. They were armed with knives and blunt weapons, hidden behind walls and alleyways.

So someone's laying a trap for me, Ye Chen thought, keeping his expression calm.

Feigning ignorance, he kept walking. When he reached the center of the ambush, the attackers emerged one by one from their hiding spots. Roughly one hundred men surrounded him in a loose formation.

At their center, a man wearing a fur coat and puffing on a cigar stepped forward. His presence suggested he was the leader of the group.

Ye Chen narrowed his eyes. He didn't recognize the man at all.

"What exactly do you people want from me?" Ye Chen asked calmly.

"Brother Wolf, that's him! He's the one who said he'd wipe out our gang yesterday!" a familiar voice cried from within the crowd.

Ye Chen looked over. It was one of the delinquents he had beaten up the day before—one of Sen Tu's gang members. So, this was payback.

"So you didn't learn your lesson," Ye Chen muttered.

The man in the fur coat, clearly their boss, took a long puff from his cigar before speaking. "Kill him. Bring me his head."

With that, a wave of armed thugs charged at Ye Chen.

Sighing softly, Ye Chen cracked his knuckles. Fine. Let's end this quickly.

He didn't even need to use spiritual energy. His bare hands were enough.

BAM! BAM! BAM! One after another, attackers flew through the air, crashing into walls and rolling on the pavement.

One man against one hundred. To anyone watching, it would've seemed like fiction.

But Ye Chen moved like a force of nature. Within minutes, the crowd of one hundred had shrunk to fifty. Then twenty-five. Then none.

Soon, the ground was littered with groaning bodies, bloodied and bruised.

The boss—known as Ai Lang, leader of the Red Wolf Gang—watched in horror. He couldn't believe his eyes. This wasn't a human; this was a demon in human form.

Ye Chen stepped closer.

Ai Lang backed away in a panic. "D-Don't come any closer!" he stammered, pulling a pistol from inside his coat.

Bang!

The bullet struck Ye Chen in the head.

He didn't even flinch.

To Ye Chen, it felt like being flicked in the forehead with a pebble. He kept walking, completely unfazed.

Ai Lang's gun trembled in his hands. His knees buckled, and he collapsed to the ground, eyes wide with terror.

"Forgive me, Senior!" Ai Lang cried, bowing low until his forehead touched the pavement. "I didn't know who I was dealing with! Please spare me!"

Ye Chen stopped in front of him, staring down coldly. "Next time, choose your enemies more carefully. Or there won't be a next time."

Ai Lang nodded furiously, cursing the foolish underling who dragged the Red Wolf Gang into this mess.
