Chapter 37 - The Ghost Familiar

LIAM

I have never experienced loneliness or coldness in my bed before. But it seems like there is always a first for everything. Even feeling cold in your bed.

I slowly stir awake because of the lack of warmth engulfing me the whole night. My arm instinctively shoots out and searches for the source of the warmth but there is none. I open my eyes, squinting against the morning light streaming into the room through the tinted window.

Kian is gone.

I don't know why but I do. But the reality is cruel and I have to accept it. It only fuels the flames of my hostility and anger.

I sigh and dive inside the sheets, curling into a ball, trying to get even a fraction of what I did last night. But the attempt is futile. I am even feeling colder now and that is pissing me off.
