Darius walked with Theo to the side where the warriors they were going with were standing. Darius was looking at them and was unsure why, but felt something odd with them.
'Is it me or do they give off malicious intent?' Darius stared at them, each of them had a shady look on their face, but he was not going to talk. He had managed to find a team willing to let him tag along so he would not lose that.
"So Darius, they are the rest of the team, they are a hired force called the Ghastly Ghouls." Theo introduced them, and Darius smiled, he didn't know what he was feeling but his instincts told him that something was off.
"Hey, why are we bringing an F rank with us?" One of the men asked if he was not happy to see that they were bringing someone like Darius along for the raid.
Darius didn't say a word, he only stared at the man, unsure how he was going to respond.
"He is a warrior, isn't he? That's why I brought him." Theo spoke up, he was looking at them and there was no one to talk back. "Besides, there are no more openings for us to take someone and he looks like someone who will be able to handle himself."
Darius was astonished, he didn't know that there was someone who would even speak for an F-ranked like him.
'Maybe this won't be bad after all," Darius thought to himself, but there was something deep down still telling him there was going to be trouble.
"So now we're complete, I believe we all know the drill?" Theo was looking at them, he didn't want to explain what they would be doing again.
They planned to take down the dungeon boss, then they would be on their way, it was not going to be a hard task.
But then.....
Darius was still feeling off, he couldn't tell why, but something was not sitting well with him, and he was not sure what it was, he wasn't going to let it bother him that long, knowing that there was a raid ahead of them.
The team was waiting for Theo to suit up, he was done with his armor and it was there they realized he was an A-ranked combatant, Darius was impressed he didn't know much about the ranks but he was sure that the man in front of him was someone he would love to stick around with.
He turned to the Ghastly ghouls, but he still didn't like them. It was not because their name sounded like something a preschooler came up with, but it was something a bit different, and it was not sitting right with him.
'They feel like people who would betray us in a heartbeat, I better keep my guard up.' Darius was looking at them, he was not going to be trusting them like he was a fool.
"Shall we?" Theo had a smile on his face.
The team rolled off following Theo, Darius acted like an F rank, sticking behind, he was trying not to get much attention on himself, knowing that it would be confusing and they would be shocked if they were to find out that he was not an F rank.
They got to the dungeon gate, like all D-ranked dungeons, it seemed weak merely looking at it.
"So this is it, we better be ready," Theo said as he led the way inside, the squad followed behind him. But as soon as Darius walked in, something happened, and the dungeon gate reacted, it was not visible, but they felt a subtle change.
"What in the world was that?" One of the ghouls asked, they were looking around, but they didn't see anything to show them what was wrong.
"Felt like the gate glitched when we walked in," Another ghoul spoke up, they had felt the glitch but they were not sure what it was for them to even put their finger on it at the moment.
Theo had felt it too, but he was not trying to do anything that would cause trouble there, so he was not going to add to their worry.
"Let's head in, I know nothing is going to be wrong this is a D-rank dungeon and I am sure it will be the usual goblins and insects." He was looking at them and he was not sure what he would say next, but he knew something was off and he was not going to scare the,m knowing that they would be freaked out.
'I hope that nothing is going to happen to this squad.' Theo prayed silently, he didn't know what was waiting for them there, but still, he was going to push on and find out what was waiting for them, everyone was on edge knowing that the dungeon was something far greater than them.
Standing behind them, Darius looked around, he was happy to be there and he was ready for whatever caused the glitch they felt. It was not that visible but then.
'Something huge is inside this place, I can feel it.' He looked around, he knew something changed the moment they walked in and it was not the pleasant kind of thing a warrior in the lower ranks would want to feel.
"The dungeon is emitting an absurd amount of dangerous mana!" Azree gave Darius an alert.
Darius looked around, he could feel it and it was not clear yet, but he was trying to see what was waiting for them there.
"Okay, men let's move!" Theo yelled as they began walking in, the squad began advancing knowing that they were going to face whatever was waiting for them inside.
Darius was mostly happy that he was there, he would have the chance to use his new skills.
'I know that it might not be something of high power but still, we need to.....'
The screen popped up cutting Darius' thoughts short.
