Chapter 27 - Not Yet

Darius was using all the willpower he had to hold himself back, he remembered what Theo told him and how things would pan out if he made the wrong steps but then he was also trying to make sure that he would get the idea through their heads.

"You made it out alive!" Nathan yelled with a washed-up expression of happiness, he walked close to the warriors in an attempt to hug them.

Darius stepped back, keeping his distance from Nathan. Nathan noticed and gave him a sinister smirk.

"Come on now, don't act like that! We are family and what we went through is something that no one can explain!"

Darius couldn't hold back anymore, he turned to Nathan. "Why you…."

"Thank you for the concern Nathan, we appreciate it." Theo cut Darius off before he was even able to get a word out of his mouth.

Darius turned to Theo, his heart boiling in anger but he was not going to let himself slip like that.

"My, Sir Theo that is a rather awful tone to use for me. You know we almost died in that Dungeon too, the least you can do is at least sympathize." Nathan still had a smile on his face, trying to see if he would get through their skin.

Theo holding the bag containing the core walked past Nathan and his crew not even looking at them.

He walked straight to the counter and dropped the bag for inspection, they weren't going to waste time there.

The man at the counter had read the room and saw that they were not in the best of terms.

"This is the core of the dungeon boss, can you run it through and tell me what it's worth?" Theo was looking at the man, he didn't want to waste time there knowing that every moment he stood there Darius was thinking of a way to make sure that he was going to kill the ghastly ghouls and he was not going to be holding back.

The man nodded his head, he took the core and placed it on the table to see what he was dealing with.

He was shocked to see that the core in front of him was not just any core, he looked at Theo and Darius.

"This here is a Blue Kamuri Cobra's core am I right?!" The man was looking at the warriors, he was not sure if he was even going to be able to believe it if they told him that they were able to get a core that strong.

"Yes," Theo answered, his reply made most of the warriors in the lobby turn to them. They had heard of the Blue Cobra and what it took to make sure that they would be able to land even if it was one hit on it.

Yet two warriors had taken it down.

"Are they S ranked cause that's the only way I see them being able to defeat something that strong!" One warrior was looking at them.

"Don't you know that's Theo Sung, he's part of the Sung family and they are known to produce powerhouses!" Another warrior was looking at them.

The ghouls were equally shocked to hear that they faced something that strong.

"That should be worth, $60,000! It's one heck of a find." One of the ghouls spoke up, he was looking at Nathan to see that he was not fairing well with the news.

"How did these bastards manage to take down a creature that strong?!" Nathan was looking at them and he did not even see a way for them to survive it.

"Remarkable, I will give you seventy thousand for it!" The man said with a look of joy on his face. He was not going to let an opportunity like this slip from his hand.

The ghouls turned white when they heard that they were going to pay them that amount for the core.

"I will take the money, sir," Theo smiled, he didn't have much time there. He turned to see Darius on what seemed to be had strand of patience.

The man looked down and brought out a briefcase, he handed Theo the briefcase inside was seventy thousand dollars payment for the core.

Theo took the case, he looked at the man. "Thank you very much."

With that Theo turned to take his leave, he was not going to waste time there. The moment he was about to leave he saw Nathan blocking his way.

He knew what was going to happen, but he was going to deal with it diplomatically.

"Do you mind?" Theo was looking at him, he didn't want to push things too far.

Nathan smiled, he was trying to get Theo to give him a part of that money.

"I don't know, I just want to remind you that the money in your hands belongs to us too." He gave him a weird expression, he nodded as he looked at his ghouls.

"You left us there Nathan, you and your squad you left us there to die, so I am not entitled to give cowards anything." Theo had a nasty smirk on his face, he was going to be playing mind games with Nathan and his crew.

Nathan bit his lip a little, he knew that with Theo and Darius out there was no way for them to get the compensation money.

"Is that so?" Nathan leaned over to Theo's ear, "I hope you are ready for what you are bringing on yourself. I can make sure that all the guilds in the city will not even let you come close to them."

"You speak so high and mighty, I am not afraid of you and you should know that if I wanted anything with the guilds then I would be in one." Theo didn't let him push him back, he was going to make sure that he stood his ground.

Nathan let out a brief laugh, he was looking at Theo and all he could see was a weakling.

"So you think that the F rank can help…." Nathan turned to see Darius, he noticed something strange he felt something odd with him.

Nathan could feel an immense amount of pressure envelop him. 'What is this pressure? I have only felt this while dealing with my brothers..'

Darius locked eyes with Nathan, his presence swelling like a storm. His entire body was radiating a high amount of energy, he wanted more than anything to take Nathan down and make sure that he wouldn't move.

For a brief moment, the air in the lobby became dense, it was hard for some people to breathe the aura coming from Darius was becoming as strong as that of a boss in an A-ranked dungeon.

Theo noticed that Darius was about to get physical, he wanted to avoid conflict there at the moment.

"Come on Darius, let's leave," Theo called for him, he walked close to him and took his hand.

Darius snapped out of it, he turned to Theo. He saw the look in his eyes and he knew what it meant and what he was trying to avoid.

"Let's get going, I don't have anything to give to cowards." Theo pulled Darius as they left the lobby.

The air immediately went back to normal the moment Theo touched Darius, he didn't even mind that he was pulling him like a twelve-year-old out of the lobby.

His eyes were still fixed on Nathan, it was like he was marking him.

'One day, I will make sure I break the bones in your legs!' Darius gritted his teeth as he was being pulled away from the lobby.

Nathan and the ghouls watched as both warriors left the place, it was not like they came to waste time there with them.

"Boss, shouldn't we go after them? That's our money too?! It's just an A rank and an F rank they can't do anything to us." One of the ghouls was urging Nathan, and he wanted to go collect the money.

Nathan rubbed his scalp, he knew what he had felt and the amount of pressure it was.

"Easy now boys, when the time is right we will give them what they deserve." Nathan smiled at his ghouls, but his mood quickly changed when he turned back to the direction Darius and Theo took.

'That F-rank, he is not normal, is he trying to hide his true rank?' Nathan was looking at them, he wondered what Darius was trying to do.

Theo took Darius a bit far from the lobby, he was not going to risk letting him go without knowing what he was going to be doing next.

"You're a ticking timebomb you know that?!" Theo let go of Darius, he didn't know what he was going to expect.

Darius shook the pain off his wrist, he was looking at Theo.

"You should have let me bash his head in just a little bit." He was still mad that he didn't get a chance to fight Nathan.

Theo's facial expression changed, he looked like he was going to blow a fuse. "After everything I told you inside the dungeon you wanted to let your rage get the best of you?!"

"He started it…"

"And I told you to take it easy for now, you have I get stronger before you even make a move on him." Theo was looking at Darius, he knew that he wanted to take Nathan down as soon as possible but letting him do so might start a war.

Theo opened the briefcase and handed Darius forty thousand dollars, he was looking at him.

"That should be enough right?" He smiled.

"What are you doing? You're giving me more than half of the money, you need some too you're the raid captain." Darius was looking at Theo, he didn't know why he was handing him the money.

"And I told you that I don't need the money, I will hold on to this one." Theo closed the case, and he stretched his hand to shake Darius. "it's a shame we have to part ways now, I hope to see you soon Darius Winters."

Darius smiled as he shook Theo's hand, "Of course, you will be seeing me soon, you still owe me that plate of chicken breasts."

Both of them laughed, but Darius knew something was certain.

"I will be sure to remember that, now take care of yourself and your sister. I would love to meet her soon too." Theo said as he turned to walk in his direction.

Darius smiled, he looked at the money and he knew that he had enough to feed himself and Lena for a long time. But then something else came to his mind, If he was going to be doing anything then he would need to get stronger.

'As Theo said, there is a lot I have not seen in the warrior's world, if I am going to stand any chance against the trouble in front then I would need to get stronger!' Darius clenched his fists as he looked at the money.
