"What a terrifying Lightning Style Ninjutsu!" Sakura murmured as she watched Sasuke clash with Kakashi on the battlefield. The owner of the Golden Egg Shop was right. The items that came out of those eggs were truly extraordinary.
Sasuke, a mere Genin, had equipped himself with the Thunder Armor Experience Card, and now, he was actually fighting evenly against a Jōnin-level opponent like Kakashi. It was almost unbelievable.
But it wasn't that Sasuke himself was overwhelmingly strong—it was the Thunder Armor's effect that made attacking him nearly impossible. The arcs of lightning continuously lashed out, making it so that Kakashi had to remain on the defensive, unable to retaliate at full strength.
Meanwhile, Sasuke was relentless, bombarding Kakashi with an array of Ninjutsu while drinking energy potions whenever his chakra reserves ran low. He showed no signs of stopping, forcing Kakashi to retreat step by step.
With one side constantly recovering stamina while the other was gradually wearing down, even an elite Jōnin like Kakashi was at a temporary disadvantage.
"Teacher, is this the strength of a Jōnin? I don't think it's all that impressive!" Sasuke taunted, his Sharingan glowing as he pressed forward.
Kakashi, still on the defensive, sighed and shook his head.
Although Sasuke was skilled, he had no sense of teamwork whatsoever. He had selfishly activated a large-scale lightning-based ability, completely ignoring the fact that he had just paralyzed Naruto, eliminating him from the fight.
Kakashi couldn't help but see his younger self in Sasuke.
Back then, he too had relied solely on his strength, looking down on teamwork. He rushed into battles headfirst, thinking he could handle everything on his own. It took Minato-sensei's strict guidance to correct that mindset.
But by the time Kakashi truly understood the value of teamwork, it was already too late.
Because of his reckless approach, Rin was taken hostage by the enemy… and the worst happened.
That memory never stopped haunting him.
It was why, every year, when the Hokage assigned him new Genin, he would purposely fail them, sending them back to the Academy. He knew that kids like Sasuke—those who thought raw power was enough—would not survive in real battle.
On the battlefield, strength alone meant nothing. If a team didn't know how to cooperate, they'd be massacred.
That was the real reason why Genin were always placed in three-man cells.
Yet, like so many before them, these new students were blinded by their Hokage dreams, thinking power was the only thing that mattered.
This was why they died the fastest during missions.
Sasuke was exactly that type.
His current strength—Three-Tomoe Sharingan, the Thunder Armor, and energy potions—pushed him into the Chūnin level, even allowing him to fight a Jōnin for a short time.
But he had completely ignored teamwork.
This was a three-man test, yet he had recklessly electrocuted Naruto.
Naruto, though well-intentioned, had also rushed in without thinking, failing to time his attack properly.
And Sakura…
Sakura had done absolutely nothing.
She stood there watching, completely useless, all while pretending to "care" about Sasuke's well-being.
Kakashi sighed deeply.
"If this is their level, they'll never survive real missions."
"If you three continue like this, I'll have no choice but to send you back to the Academy!" Kakashi declared, his chakra flaring as he instantly countered Sasuke's attack.
"Boom!"
With one decisive burst, Kakashi sent Sasuke flying, knocking him deep into the forest.
"Sasuke-kun!" Sakura cried out, immediately chasing after him.
Kakashi watched her run off and sighed again.
"She's completely useless."
At this point, his decision was made.
However…
Kakashi sensed a sudden attack coming from behind!
Whoosh!
At the last moment, he dodged swiftly, feeling a rush of energy pass where he had just been standing.
Turning, he saw Naruto, holding a Rasengan in his hand.
Kakashi nodded slightly.
"At least one of them has some potential."
Naruto's execution was sloppy, but he at least tried a sneak attack.
However…
Naruto didn't suppress his chakra properly, making his movements far too obvious.
If he had been stealthier, Kakashi might have actually been hit.
"Not bad," Kakashi admitted. "But you're still not ready."
Seeing his attack fail, Naruto stood his ground, raising his fists.
"Fine then, sensei!" Naruto shouted. "Let's fight fair and square!"
Kakashi's expression turned blank.
"Fair and square?"
Kakashi rubbed his temples, realizing he had spoken too soon about Naruto having "potential."
Before Kakashi could even reply, Naruto charged forward, ready to fight head-on.
"You idiot."
Kakashi sighed, reaching into his ninja pouch.
Naruto froze, seeing the movement.
"Is he pulling out a kunai? A shuriken? A lightning blade?!"
Bracing himself, Naruto prepared to dodge.
But—
Kakashi casually pulled out…
A book.
The "Ninja Special edition" novel he had won from the Golden Egg Shop.
Flipping to a random page, Kakashi spoke as if Naruto wasn't even there.
"Tips on Ninja Tactics – Chapter 1: Taijutsu."
He didn't even look up.
"Let me teach you."
"WHAT?!"
Naruto's face turned red with rage.
Kakashi wasn't even taking him seriously!
"You bastard! Take me seriously!"
Fueled by rage, Naruto charged in with full force.
Kakashi, still reading his book, effortlessly dodged every attack, one-handed.
He even flipped pages in the middle of the fight!
"Damn it!" Naruto snarled.
Kakashi was so relaxed that it infuriated him even more.
Just as Naruto launched another punch, Kakashi vanished.
Naruto's eyes darted around, panicked.
"Where did he—"
A chilling voice whispered behind him.
"A ninja never leaves their back exposed… idiot."
Naruto froze in horror.
"No way—!"
Too late.
"Konoha Ninjutsu Secret – The Secret of Taijutsu!"
Kakashi formed a single hand sign—Tiger Seal.
Moving with speed too fast for the eye, he struck with a precision attack…
Straight into Naruto's rear end.
"THOUSAND YEARS OF DEATH!"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
An orange blur shot straight into the sky, vanishing like a rocket.
