Haruto glanced at Koharu lying on the floor, scoffed, and ignored her.
"Just a useless old woman who freeloads in the village dares to tell me what to do? You must be tired of living!"
With a flick of his hand, Koharu and her ridiculous portable speaker were tossed out of the shop.
"Hokage-sama, what were you saying just now?" Haruto's expression instantly softened into a warm smile as he turned to Sarutobi Hiruzen.
"..." Both Hiruzen and Homura were stunned. Was this really the same man from just a moment ago?
Were they caught in a Genjutsu?
One moment Haruto radiated overwhelming pressure, and the next he was all smiles. The sudden shift in demeanor left them reeling.
Only Kakashi and Asuma would truly understand what they felt.
They had experienced it firsthand when Haruto crushed Root operatives without breaking a sweat—then smiled as if nothing had happened.
"Haha…" Hiruzen gave a dry chuckle to mask his unease.
Thank goodness Koharu had been removed. If she had said anything else to provoke Haruto, their plan would've been ruined.
"We're here today to formally invite you to join Konoha's Advisory Council," Homura said straightforwardly.
"Huh?" Haruto raised an eyebrow. That was unexpected.
"You want me to join Konoha's Advisory Council?" he asked Hiruzen.
"That's right," Hiruzen nodded. "You helped the village eliminate Danzo, and your strength makes you more than qualified."
"Moreover, with the upcoming joint Chūnin Exams between Fire and Wind, we need someone of your caliber involved."
"We sincerely hope you'll join us," he said, locking eyes with Haruto.
Haruto thought for a moment. He could tell that Hiruzen wasn't trying to manipulate him.
But he was just a humble egg seller. He had no desire for prestige—he simply wanted to sell his golden eggs and grow stronger at his own pace.
Becoming part of the high council would no doubt come with responsibilities and obligations.
But...
"I accept," Haruto said.
"But unless it's truly important, I'd prefer not to be disturbed."
"After all, I'm just a guy who sells golden eggs," he said earnestly.
Hiruzen didn't expect Haruto to agree so quickly. Delighted, he responded, "Of course. We can handle most things ourselves."
"Then you'd best be on your way," Haruto smiled, gesturing toward the door.
Given who had come to visit, he was sure the area outside was crawling with Anbu—scaring away potential customers.
Hiruzen understood and simply nodded with a wry smile, then left the shop with Homura.
Outside, Koharu stood fuming.
After being thrown out, she'd tried everything to get back in but was blocked by a mysterious force. She finally realized just how large the gap in power between herself and Haruto truly was.
But she was a Konoha elder—how dare this young man treat her like that?
"Just you wait!" she muttered, gripping her speaker and storming off.
"Old hag, I'm letting you off easy…" Haruto muttered coldly, watching her walk away. "If it weren't for Hiruzen, I'd have sent you to join Danzo already."
