Kai, feeling bored and unsure of what to do, started thinking of something productive. The bricks they had made would only fully harden by tomorrow, and the bear fur needed 2-3 more days to tan.

He looked at Kit and Kat, remembering that one of them had the power to control wind.

"Wind is created by the interaction of hot and cold air," Kai thought to himself.

He began explaining to the group:

"When air heats up, it expands and rises. From morning until evening, the air across the Earth's surface becomes warmer compared to the air above water surfaces.

As the warm air rises, it creates a gap, or low-pressure area. This gap is then filled by cooler air, which moves in to replace it. That movement of air is what we call wind."

At night, the opposite happens. The land cools down faster than the water, so the air over the water becomes warmer and rises, while the cooler air from the land moves toward the water. The wind still happens, but the cycle is reversed.

In geography, we learn about the Coriolis effect, but most of us don't study geography, right? Haha."

Kit and Kat giggled, their eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"The Coriolis effect happens because the Earth is rotating. When the Earth spins, the wind doesn't move in a straight line—it gets deflected. That's why we have trade winds (moving east to west) and westerlies (moving west to east), and finally, jet streams. Sounds complicated, right?"

Kit nodded slowly, trying to absorb the information.

"But if you understand this, Kit, you'll know which direction the wind is moving. That'll make it easier to sail quickly in the future," Kai added with a smile.

Rose, who had been listening, chimed in. "So, if we ever need to travel by water, we'll know how to use the wind to our advantage. That's pretty cool!"

Vix nodded, impressed. "You're full of surprises, Kai. Who knew wind could be so fascinating?"

Kai chuckled. "It's all about understanding how things work. Once you get the basics, everything else falls into place."

Kat, curious about soil because her power allowed her to control the surface of the ground, asked Kai to explain more.

Kai smiled and began:

"Soil is the upper layer of the Earth's surface that supports plant growth and is essential for ecosystems. It's formed through the weathering of rocks and the decomposition of organic materials over thousands of years."

He simplified it further for Kat:

"There are many types of soil, but the basic layers are:

1. OHorizon : The top layer with organic matter like leaves and twigs.

2. AHorizon (Topsoil) : Rich in organic matter and nutrients; this is where plants grow.

3. BHorizon (Subsoil) : Contains minerals leached from the topsoil.

4. CHorizon : Weathered parent material (rock fragments).

5. RHorizon : Bedrock."

Kat's eyes widened as she listened. "So, my power only works on the top layer, the O Horizon and A Horizon?"

Kai nodded. "Yes, your power likely affects the surface layers, where most of the organic matter and nutrients are. That's why it's so useful for farming and building."

Vix added, "And that's why we need to take care of the soil. If we damage the top layers, it'll take a long time to recover."

Kat looked thoughtful. "So, if I use my power to move the soil, I should be careful not to mix the layers too much, right?"

"Exactly," Kai impressed by her understanding. "You've got a good grasp of it. With your power, we can shape the land to grow crops, build shelters, and even create barriers to protect ourselves."

Rose chimed in, "And if we work together, we can make this place even better. Kit with her wind power, Kat with her soil control, and Kai with his knowledge—we're unstoppable!"

The group laughed, feeling a sense of unity and purpose.

Kai's expression turned serious as he spoke about Rose's power.

"Rose's power is different. It's the most dangerous one among us. For now, let's only let her use it on plants. I'm scared that if she uses it on living things in this world, it might cause irreversible changes."

The group fell silent, the weight of Kai's words sinking in.

Rose, who had been quietly listening, nodded.

"I understand. I'll be careful and only use my power on plants for now."

Vix looked at Kai, concerned. "What exactly is her power? Why is it so dangerous?"

Kai hesitated before answering. "Rose's power allows her to accelerate the growth and transformation of living things. While it's incredibly useful for growing crops and healing plants, using it on animals or humans could have unpredictable consequences. It might alter their biology or even their minds."

Kit and Kat, who had been playing nearby, stopped and listened intently.

"So, Rose can make things grow super fast?" Kit asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

"Yes," but we need to be cautious. This world is already full of unknowns, and we don't want to risk creating more problems."

Rose smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, everyone. I'll only use my power when necessary and only on plants. We'll figure out the rest as we go."

Vix nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. "Alright, but let's keep an eye on things. If anything seems off, we'll adjust our plans."
