Lady Karina nearly squashed the parchment in her hand, but she set it aside instead.
"The world I knew was filled with peace and beautiful days," Lady Karina uttered almost bitterly. "And the things you have done... you destroyed my heaven, Orpheus. You murdered... and you destroyed all that I knew."
And there it was again.
That sharp jab he'd felt in his chest before had returned. He was never a man who was remorseful about the things he'd done, yet hearing of his actions from Lady Karina had come bearing down on him like a blade to his neck.
"How could you possibly expect me to share my life with a man who took everything from me that was dear and wonderful?" She asked, her words holding pain, grief, and anger.
Orpheus was far from redemption and he knew it.
The world he knew was bloodshed and destruction.
He came away from the lancet window, emitting a heavy sigh.
Crossing his arms over his chest, he paced about thoughtfully.
