Sienna's POV
The forest path felt different under my feet today. Not just because we were going to the Third Trial, but because everything had changed since Darius died.
"You okay?" Ronan asked, walking close beside me. His voice made something stir in my mind—like trying to remember a song I used to know.
"I'm fine," I lied. Nothing was great.
Behind us, Kieran walked alone, his face dark with anger. He hadn't spoken since we left camp this morning. I knew why. Every time he looked at me, he saw the curse that wasn't really his.
"He'll come around," Ronan said quietly, following my eyes.
"Will he? His Beta betrayed him. The curse he thought was his fate turns out to be someone else's magic." I kicked a stone off the road. "And now he has to protect me because of some stupid prophecy he never asked for."
Ronan's hand brushed mine. Just a touch, but it felt like electricity.
"Some memories came back last night," he said.
My heart jumped. "About us?"
