Maximilian finished handling all the matters and returned to the group to report. Ignatius Leclair stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the bustling streets below, and spoke lightly: "You're saying she showed no emotion?"
Maximilian looked somewhat troubled and said tactfully, "Miss Carter has always been relatively reserved and composed."
Reserved and composed? When he went, Miss Carter didn't have a trace of a smile on her face, only an air of cold indifference and detachment. Anyone else in her situation would've been overjoyed.
Ignatius Leclair's lips curled slightly, his handsome features tinged with a hint of interest. So she still has that expressionless look. The little girl had indeed grown up, learned to conceal her emotions. No matter how intense his demands at night, no matter how unwilling she might be, she dared not show it. Instead, she'd quietly grip him, lure him, make him lose control and let her off early.
