The sun was shining brightly under a clear sky!
Next to a bungalow on the outskirts of town, several four or five-year-old children were playing a game of getting married. Each child's face was lit up with a sunny smile, especially the little groom, whose smile was as bright as a blooming sunflower.
"Snatch the bride! Snatch the bride!
Suddenly, an eleven or twelve-year-old boy ran over to cause trouble, picked up the little girl dressed as the bride, and ran off.
"Brother Chen, save me!" the little girl shouted loudly for help to the boy dressed as the groom.
"Don't be afraid, little girl, Brother Chen is coming to save you!"
The little boy ran after them, but being too young and short-legged without much strength, he ran with all his might yet couldn't catch up with the older boy.
The boy called back smugly, "Your bride is mine now, little one, goodbye!"
"Bad guy! Let me go!" the little girl yelled while hitting the boy's shoulder.
The boy cheekily kissed the little girl's pink cheeks, "No!"
"Big bad guy! I'll beat you up! Beat..."
...
Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!
The urgent doorbell sound woke Lily Turner from her deep sleep. She turned her head to look around, realizing that she was just dreaming. This dream had been haunting her lately, leaving her quite puzzled.
Wait!
Where is this place?
Everything before her was so unfamiliar, not her room, nor a hotel suite.
The room was luxuriously decorated yet felt cozy. Where on earth was this?
Lily rubbed her somewhat blurry eyes, using her hands to support herself on the soft mattress as she sat up, and groaned out loud, "Sss!"
The discomfort in her body suddenly reminded her of what happened last night. Damn bastard! How long has it been since he touched a woman?
Even after resting for a whole night, her body still felt sore.
Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!
Just then, the urgent doorbell sound came again from outside the room.
Lily couldn't bother with her extremely uncomfortable body anymore. She turned her head looking for her clothes, seeing her dress and undergarments lying messily not far from the bed.
Getting off the bed, she picked up her clothes from the floor and put them on as quickly as possible.
Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!
The person outside pressed the doorbell again.
Lily frowned in annoyance. Was the Grim Reaper at the door? She couldn't spare time to find her shoes and walked barefoot out of the room to open the door.
"Coming! Coming! Stop pressing it!" she said to the person outside while walking toward the door.
The person outside seemed to hear Lily, and stopped anxiously pressing the doorbell. It suddenly became quiet outside.
"Who are you?"
Upon opening the door, standing there was not the man from last night, but a completely unfamiliar man. Lily asked suspiciously.
"Miss Turner! Hello! I'm here on orders from our boss to deliver the transfer documents." The man at the door was none other than Luke Crowe, who had been with Easton Holmes last night. However, Lily was too panicked last night to have noticed his appearance.
Upon hearing this, Lily frowned even more deeply, "And who is your boss?"
Boss?! Could the man from last night be some kind of mafia?
"It's better if you don't ask, or you could be in danger." Luke dared not reveal his boss's name, lest he get his boss into trouble.
