Lunara stared out the window in front of her. She hadn't slept a wink.
The whole night, Eryx never returned. She had expected him to come back, to pester her like he had for the past two days but he didn't.
Slowly, she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. Every step felt heavy, her mood already ruined. But she stopped in her tracks when someone knocked on the door.
Panicking, she rushed to find a mirror. "Oh my gosh! I look terrible." She poked at the dark circles under her eyes. They were swollen from all the crying yesterday, and today, she could barely keep them open.
"What should I do? What should I do?" She paced in front of the mirror, running her hands through her messy hair, when a voice from outside made her freeze.
"Lunara, it's me, Regina."
Her movements stopped instantly. It wasn't him. The thought alone brought an unexpected wave of disappointment to her face.
"Are you up? I need to discuss something with you," Regina continued when Lunara didn't respond.
