What looked to be a large boulder made of flesh came crashing down, and not long later it was followed by a towering pillar of water, that gushed out from a mountain face.
A deafening boom echoed, sending a towering wave surging outward in every direction. The surface of the lake once glossy and still, was consumed by chaos.
A little while later though, the waves calmed, but the newly formed water fall continued to pour down. A few meters away from it, something began to rise out of the water.
Epsilons head broke through the surface tension, as he struggled and gasped for breath.
His body was somewhat bruised, and his motion sickness did not help at all, but he was alive. That alone was a reward.
Taking a look around, Epsilons eyes widened.
He was in some kind of underground cavern? But unlike his time in the dungeons of darkness, this place was much, much larger. It even had light that seemed to originate from these strange glowing crystals in the ceiling.
Epsilon was in a lake at what he could only describe as the southern most part of the cavern. The first half of it was dominated by water, while in the latter there was only land for as far as he could see.
Somewhere to his left, there were even more jets of water spewing out from within the mountain face, and past all of those was a giant, wooden water wheel. It didn't look to be functioning though.
Further up before him, there was land. It was perfectly green too, with a lush forest just up ahead.
This made Epsilon wary. He was in the dream realm, if it looked to good to be true, then there was definitely something dangerous lurking near by.
But [Judgement] seemed to think that this area was safe. It hadn't reacted to him being in the water either, so there wasn't anything dangerous here too.
With that, he began to swim up, and took his first steps on dry land.
Although he was still very cold, a warm breeze began to blow into his body, keeping it at bay.
"Do I just keep going up?"
Judgement didn't react, so he began to move. The water in the lake was safe to drink, but he still needed food.
The moment he took a step inside the forest, he felt something move. The forest roof was dense, so he couldn't sense inside it that well because it was crowded in shadows. But the very few holes of light that Epsilon could sense, would be blocked by something every now and then.
He could not tell what it was, but he was sure that it wasn't human. Or at least, it was hostile.
Epsilon quickly steeled himself. He had already fought Nightmare creatures before, if it was just one of them, then he could handle it. Even with no memories.
Focusing on the little amounts of light, he felt them reappear and disappear repeatedly, but there was a pattern. Just as he expected, whatever was in here was gunning right for him.
An orb of white light emerged from his body, and at the same time he felt his strength weaken. If he messed this up, then he was screwed.
The light hovered just above the palm of his hand before slowly take the shape of a long, sharp needle, which Epsilon aimed towards the mouth of the forest. All that was left, was to wait.
And not long later, the roof of the forest began to shake wildly and stir as a shadow jumped out towards him. Quickly aiming up, his white projectile fired at a moments notice, slamming against the creature before exploding.
Epsilon quickly backed away, as the body of the injured creature fell to the ground.
The nightmare spell didn't declare the kill, so Epsilon never let his guard down either.
The creature was some kind of monkey? Its grey fur was short, with it even being bald in some places, and it had weird tendrils growing out of its body, but they looked limp and lifeless. There was something horribly wrong with its face, aside from the deep gnash that covered its right eye. It was hideous, even for a Nightmare creature. It was like it was forcibly fused with something indescribable.
Epsilon began to resummon another sphere of white light. but the creature quickly got up, and looked at Epsilon with a familiar madness in its eyes. It screamed, as it charged towards him without relenting.
'Hurry!'
It leapt, swinging one of its arms in an arch aimed right at Epsilons head. But its missing eye made its aim slightly off, making it even easier for Epsilon to weave right past it. The moment the orb of light finished manifesting, Epsilon quickly shaped it into the form of a needle before grabbing it.
He moved with haste, quickly shoving it into the hideous monkeys other eye as it then exploded. Then with as much force as he could muster, Epsilon kicked it right in the stomach, pushing it back.
And still, the nightmare spell never declared the kill.
The monkey was completely blind, with even half of its skull being exposed and destroyed. And yet, Epsilon could feel it looking right at him as it slowly got back up. It began to growl in a low tone, before thrashing out of nowhere.
It leapt back at Epsilon, to which he dodged even easily now that it was completely blind and off balance. The creature crashed into the ground, before jumping at a random direction and slamming against a tree.
Well, it was blind.
Epsilon summoned another orb of white light, moulding it into another needle. So if its head wasn't its weak spot, then how about its heart?
Epsilon then taunted at it,
"Where are you aiming at? I'm right here you blind baboon."
'That's the animal it resembles.. right?'
The creature now hearing Epsilons voice, turned towards it before lashing out at him once again.
Its shrieks cut through the air, high pitched and furious as its small but muscular body tensed with rage, Baring its sharp teeth and fangs towards Epsilon.
Its arms swung forward, trying to harm the enemy that blinded it, but it was all useless. There was nothing but air no matter how much it swung.
Then a few moments later, something sharp penetrated its chest, digging through its body before lodging itself in its heart. Not long after, it exploded. Killing it on the spot.
