Chapter 97 - A kiss

Sun was calling it quits for the day, smearing all this orange, gold, sticky-light stuff over the stones. Kai, posted up against the railing, nursed a mug (tea? coffee? we'll never know), kinda listening to Noah ramble about how blue the sea looked earlier, but his focus kept bailing—drifting off track, downward.

He elbowed Noah, not even trying to hide his curiosity.

"Wait, is that East…?"

Noah's eyes followed—just in time to see East booking it from the kitchen hall, head ducked, cheeks blazing even from up here.

Then, like clockwork, Mick popped out of the kitchen a couple seconds after. Eyes sharp, on the hunt, scanning like someone who lost their wallet and maybe their dignity. The look on his face? Rough.

Kai let his breath out sloooow. "Well, something definitely went down."
