064: Combusken vs. Pinsir! Qin Yun's Last Pokémon

A roaring stream of fire burst from Combusken's mouth, rushing toward Pinsir.
"Pinsir, dodge!"
Pinsir leaped to the side, narrowly avoiding the blast. Its defensive stat distribution was lopsided: high physical defense (100) but relatively lower special defense (70). Knowing this, Hongshen was determined to keep it from taking direct hits.

Pinsir's body glowed as its critical-hit ratio increased. Its focus sharpened, and its movements became more refined.
"Combusken, use Agility!"
At maximum Speed Boost stacks, Combusken moved so fast that she left behind afterimages. Even an Elite Pokémon at its peak would struggle to match such velocity under normal circumstances.
Hongshen's eyes widened.
"How is it this fast?"
He quickly adjusted. "Pinsir, use Focus Blast!"
Pinsir, well-trained in execution, charged a ball of fighting-type energy and hurled it toward Combusken.
BAM!
Combusken countered with Double Kick, the sheer force pushing Pinsir back several steps.
"No way… this power…"
Hongshen frowned. He had assumed he could wear Combusken down, but the situation was different from what he expected.
Qin Yun's Pokémon had evolved—not physically, but in strength, surpassing its original limits.
"But no matter how strong your Combusken is, the final winner will still be my Pinsir."
"Pinsir, use Double Hit!"
Hongshen timed the attack perfectly. Combusken, still stabilizing from her burst of speed, had to recover from recoil. With no time to dodge, Pinsir's two consecutive strikes landed cleanly.
"Combusken, Elementalization!"
As the next blow came, Combusken's body became intangible for an instant, causing Pinsir's attack to pass harmlessly through.

Hongshen's pupils contracted. This technique resembled a Ghost-type's phasing ability, making Combusken momentarily invulnerable.
"Pinsir, use Storm Throw!"
In the Pokémon games, Storm Throw always results in a critical hit, but in real battles, it was simply an exceptionally precise attack.
Pinsir timed it perfectly—the moment Combusken's body solidified, it grabbed her and slammed her into the ground with terrifying force.
"Combusken!"
Qin Yun's eyes flickered with urgency. Hongshen had seen through the limitations of Elementalization.
Combusken's mastery of the Burning Fruit's power was still incomplete. She could only maintain intangibility for a few seconds and required a cooldown period before using it again.
"Not yet!!"
Combusken struggled back to her feet, flames bursting around her.
"Pinsir, keep pressing forward!"

"Double Hit!"
Both Pokémon clashed head-on.
The difference in raw strength became evident—Combusken, despite her elite power, was not as physically strong as Pinsir, who was an Elite-level Pokémon specializing in brute force.
Qin Yun attempted to withdraw, but Hongshen refused to give him any breathing room.
BOOM!
Seizing an opening, Hongshen commanded, "Pinsir, use Seismic Toss!"
Pinsir locked onto Combusken, lifted her high into the air, and slammed her into the ground with a deafening impact. The battlefield trembled.
Dust and embers settled.
Combusken lay unconscious in the crater.
"Combusken is unable to battle! Pinsir wins!"
The referee's voice rang across the field.
"The match is now tied. We move to the final battle."
Both trainers exhaled deeply.
From Hongshen's perspective, Qin Yun did not feel like a novice at all. His battle instincts, adaptability, and Pokémon training skills were far beyond that of an ordinary trainer.
For a brief moment, Hongshen had an illusion—as if he were facing a rival of equal rank.
Or perhaps… an even stronger one.
"Qin Yun," Hongshen called out. "I'm looking forward to your final performance."
The entire audience held their breath.
Qin Yun's last Pokémon…
Would it be another exceptional fighter like Combusken?
