Chapter 61 - 61 Second Half

As the second half commenced, there were no changes made on either side. The players took their positions, and the whistle blew to restart the match.

"And we are back!" Morris announced enthusiastically. "No substitutions from either team. Tiger King is keeping faith in his starting eleven, and rightly so! They've been dominant in the first half. Let's see if Swansea can respond or if United will continue their rampage."

Raman added, "One match doesn't say anything, Morris. These new signings could fizzle out soon. Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

From the very first second, Manchester United showed their intent. Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie seemed to forget about the ball and instead rushed straight for goal, their attacking instincts kicking in. Michael Carrick, always the mastermind in midfield, spotted their movement and delivered a stunning long pass over the top, catching Swansea's defense unprepared.

Rooney reached the ball first and, with a delicate touch, set it up perfectly for van Persie. The Dutchman wasted no time, firing off a thunderous right-footed shot. Michel Vorm was caught completely flat-footed.

"VAN PERSIEEEE! OH, THAT'S MAGNIFICENT!" Morris roared. "What a start to the second half! A brilliant pass from Carrick, a smart touch from Rooney, and van Persie bags his second of the day! United are running riot!"

Swansea, however, were determined not to go down without a fight. Michu, Nathan Dyer, and the rest of the Swansea attack began pushing forward in an attempt to pull one back. Their quick, precise passing created an opening, but just as they seemed ready to strike, Marcos Alonso read the play perfectly and stepped in to intercept.

United countered swiftly, and Nani—who had been relatively quiet—suddenly burst into life. With a dazzling dribble past two defenders, he found space outside the box and let loose a ferocious strike. Vorm dived at full stretch, barely tipping it away.

"OH MY WORD! That was traveling! Nani almost pulled off something special!" Morris exclaimed.

At the 60th minute mark, Tiger King signaled for changes. Giggs, who had played an outstanding game, was taken off for Riyad Mahrez, the new summer signing. There were doubts about Mahrez—after all, he was signed for only 500,000 euros—but Tiger King saw potential in him. It was a like-for-like replacement, but Mahrez's energy and unpredictability added a new dimension. Michael Carrick was substituted for Phil Jones, strengthening the defensive midfield. With N'Golo Kanté and Jones together, the wings would become crucial for United's attack. Lastly, Rio Ferdinand was replaced by Toby Alderweireld, another summer signing, forming a fresh center-back pairing with Virgil van Dijk.

"Three key substitutions for Manchester United," Morris analyzed. "We're now witnessing the new center-back partnership of Alderweireld and Van Dijk for the first time. This is Tiger King's way of showing the world that his summer signings are no fluke. But the real test will come when they face the Big Six."

Swansea attempted to mount pressure, testing United's new defensive setup, but Alderweireld and Van Dijk held firm. The pair worked in unison, clearing crosses, intercepting through balls, and standing strong against every attack. Their composure under pressure proved that Tiger King's faith in them was well placed.

The real moment of brilliance came in the 70th minute. Mahrez, already making his presence felt, combined brilliantly with Marcos Alonso down the left flank. Their one-two passing bewildered the Swansea defense before Mahrez played in a precise low cross to Van Persie. The Dutchman, in impeccable form, struck the ball into the net, completing his hat trick.

"HATTRICK FOR VAN PERSIE! And would you look at that link-up play!" Morris shouted. "Mahrez and Alonso—what a dangerous combination down the left! Premier League defenses, take note!"

Raman, however, was skeptical. "Let's not get carried away, Morris. It's just one game. Mahrez had a good moment, but consistency is key in this league."

Gary Neville chimed in, "Don't underestimate the Captain. He will always be our First Captain. Among Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, me, Phil Neville, and Nicky Butt—among all of us—Tiger King was chosen to lead. Not just because he could read the game like an eagle surveying the field, but because he worked harder than anyone. That's what made him special, and that's why I trust him to build a winning team."

Neville then turned to Raman with a smirk. "And as for Mahrez having just 'a good moment'—Raman, I hope you're taking notes. The kid's making a statement, and I have a feeling this isn't the last we'll hear from him."

Meanwhile, seeing the goal and completed hattrick of van Persie, the Manchester United fans in the stands erupted into deafening cheers.

Rodney playfully complained to Cook, "There are too many goals in this game—my throat is sore from shouting!"

Cook chuckled. "Don't complain when you're lucky enough to witness this."

Meanwhile, at the Manchester Red Bar, the excitement was reaching a fever pitch, with the cheers of United supporters threatening to shake the very foundation of the building.

"Oh, SHIT! I have to be at the next away game, no matter what! Even if the tigress at home disagrees, I'm going!"

"Tiger King is incredible! If we keep playing like this, defending the title will be no problem!"

"Yeah, and maybe we can push further in the Champions League too!"

"Further? Have you forgotten Tiger's words? Our goal is the Treble!"

"Treble! Treble!"

The Red Bar roared as the Red Devils faithful fell into pure, unbridled madness.

Swansea finally got a consolation goal in the 78th minute. A moment of miscommunication between Alderweireld and Van Dijk allowed Michu to pounce, slotting a well-placed shot past De Gea.

"A small lapse in coordination there," Morris noted. "But these defenders have barely played together. A few more matches, and this should be ironed out."

Just when it seemed like United were done scoring, Rafael da Silva made his presence known. The Brazilian, full of energy, executed a spectacular cross-field pass to Mahrez. The Algerian winger cut inside and, with a curling effort from outside the box, sent the ball soaring into the net.

"RAFAEL TO MAHREZ! WHAT A GOAL!" Morris yelled. "That's what you call a debut goal in style! Manchester United are simply unstoppable today!"

"Not bad for 500,000 euros, eh?" Neville joked, continuing to poke Raman whose face had soured as if someone had just slapped him.

"With just five minutes left on the clock, the result was beyond doubt—United's three points were secured. The scoreline stood at 5-1, with Norwich's lone goal stemming from a miscommunication between Van Dijk and Toby Alderweireld." Morris added, analyzing the win and the impact on the Premier League this season.

"Tiger King silenced his doubters with a commanding performance, as Manchester United dominated in a one-sided affair. Several new signings shone, but none more so than N'Golo Kanté. The defensive midfielder was the backbone of United's midfield, anchoring the team with relentless energy and precise interceptions. Without him, Manchester United might have conceded more." Neville added

The final whistle blew, and the scoreboard read 5-1 in favor of Manchester United.

"A statement victory from the defending champions!" Morris declared. "Tiger King's new signings have delivered, the veterans have stepped up, and Manchester United look as strong as ever!"

Gary Neville analyzed on Sky Sports, "Tiger King has answered his critics in the best way possible—with a dominant performance. Several new players have stepped up today, and none more so than Kanté. He's become the heart of United's midfield defense. Without him, they might have conceded even more."

Raman agreed. "It's not just about defense—his ability to win the ball and start counterattacks has been exceptional."

Guest pundit Gary Neville nodded. "This is the kind of performance that wins titles. Tiger King has built a side that not only attacks with flair but also defends with discipline. If they continue like this, they'll be tough to stop."

Raman interjected, "We'll see how strong they really are when they play the big boys. One match means nothing in a long season."

Raman, who was holding a league schedule in his hand, shook his head and said, "Swansea is too weak to be a real test. It's not just about Tiger King—honestly, even if Scholes were in charge, United would still win this one. Beating underdogs doesn't prove anything. The real challenge lies ahead.

"Manchester United's upcoming fixtures are fascinating. In the second round, they'll face Chelsea at Old Trafford. Then, in the third round, they head to Anfield to take on their fierce rivals, Liverpool. After a home game against Crystal Palace in the fourth round, they'll visit the Etihad Stadium in the fifth round for a showdown against Manchester City. If Tiger King can come out on top in these heavyweight clashes, that's when he'll truly earn recognition."

Although Raman's words sounded harsh, Morris nodded in agreement. "He's right. This game was too easy for Manchester United. The real test will be how they perform against the league's top teams. If Tiger King can take the lead in these key battles, then he'll truly silence the doubters."

In the locker room, the celebrations were tempered by Tiger King's words. "Great performance, lads. But don't let this victory get to your heads. This is just one game. The season is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep working hard, and we'll be ready for whatever comes next."

The players nodded, understanding the message loud and clear. This was only the beginning.
