Chapter 64: The Berserker's Wrath
A deep, guttural roar shook the crumbling remains of Seoul as Asmodra—the Thousand-Limbed Harbinger—went berserk. Its grotesque, elongated body convulsed, and suddenly, a thousand monstrous arms erupted from its flesh like writhing serpents.
BOOOOOM!
The arms slammed into the city with a force that shattered concrete, leveling entire districts in seconds. The monstrous limbs crushed skyscrapers like paper, sending glass and steel cascading into the streets below. Bridges collapsed, cars plummeting into the dark waters below as passengers inside screamed in terror. A mother reached for her son through the shattered remains of their vehicle, her voice drowned out by the chaos. A final, heart-wrenching cry—then silence.
The entire city groaned and trembled, as if Seoul itself was sinking into the earth.
From a distance, Tito and Madagascar sprinted through the debris, dodging the destruction. One of the massive arms smashed down just a few feet from them, sending a shockwave that nearly hurled them off their feet.
"This thing is trying to erase Seoul from existence!" Madagascar yelled, his breath ragged as he kept moving.
Tito's sharp eyes darted upward, analyzing the beast's movements. "We need to take that thing down—NOW!"
The Counterattack
FWOOOOOSH!
A blast of wind cut through the air as Mujin and Frozen teleported just in time, evading another deadly strike. Mujin reappeared several buildings away, gripping Frozen by the shoulder before releasing him onto a stable rooftop.
The arms had crushed Number 7 and 8 to death already.
Mujin exhaled sharply, feeling the drain of his teleportation ability. Tobu was an S+ ranked technique, one that required a heavy toll on his Shen reserves. He knew he couldn't keep up this pace for much longer.
"We need to neutralize Asmodra before it completely collapses Seoul," Mujin said, scanning the battlefield.
Frozen's voice was as calm as ever. "That thing isn't just a mindless beast. Huey is controlling it, using it as a weapon."
Mujin clenched his jaw. "Then we take the fight to Huey."
From above, Huey watched everything unfold, an amused smirk creeping across his face. He could feel the strain of controlling Asmodra. Even for someone of his caliber, maintaining a summoned beast of this magnitude took a heavy toll.
He exhaled, stretching his fingers before muttering under his breath.
"Let's finish this so I can head for the boy himself."
Asmodra's eyes burned a hellish red, and suddenly—it opened its mouth wide.
A dense, otherworldly energy began to churn deep within its gaping maw, a gathering storm of raw destruction. The very gravitational force of the area shifted, pulling nearby debris into the growing sphere of devastation.
Mujin's eyes widened in horror.
"If that thing fires, Seoul will cease to exist!"
BOOOOOM!
A thunderous shockwave ripped through the battlefield as a figure descended from the sky like a falling comet, cratering the earth upon landing.
Dust and debris obscured the figure, but an ominous pressure filled the air. A monstrous, otherworldly aura seeped from the crater.
Frozen and Mujin turned towards the disturbance.
"Who the hell—" Mujin began, but frozen eyes widened in recognition.
"It's him…"
The dust finally settled. Standing in the middle of the battlefield, bathed in black Shen energy, was Sakamoto.
But this wasn't the same Sakamoto they knew.
His entire aura had changed—his presence partially no longer human. Jushin had taken control.
He lifted his right hand slowly, his palm facing Asmodra's grotesque body.
"Heavenly Attraction: Pure Bliss."
A seismic shockwave erupted from Sakamoto's palm, striking Asmodra with a force so immense that it hurled the colossal beast backward.
THOOOOOM!
The ground split apart as Asmodra's enormous frame skidded across the battlefield, crushing buildings and bodies alike as it was forcibly pushed over 30 meters away.
High above, Huey's smirk vanished.
His expression turned to shock.
"Impossible…"
But it wasn't over.
Asmodra's mouth—now fully charged—had already locked onto Seoul. The beam of annihilation was about to be unleashed.
Mujin gritted his teeth. There was only one way to stop the attack now.
He raised his hands, forming five glowing seals in mid-air. With a final push of his Shen, he merged the seals into one massive sigil, then hurled it into the sky.
"Cursed Technique: Flying Thunder God Hands."
Suddenly, 32 colossal, ethereal hands burst forth from the seal, reaching towards the incoming beam. The Shen-crafted hands grasped the sphere of destruction, containing its energy for a mere second.
Then Mujin muttered a single word.
"Tobu."
In the blink of an eye, he and the beam vanished.
Elsewhere… in the Void
BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!
A world-ending explosion tore through a pocket dimension, consuming the void itself in raw devastation.
Even though it happened in another plane of existence, the shockwave was so immense that it shook the entire globe.
Russia felt it,America felt it,Egypt felt it,Even Korea—where the battle still raged—felt the rippling aftermath.
Mujin reappeared, utterly drained, his Shen completely exhausted. His body trembled as he fell to one knee, barely able to remain conscious.
Sakamoto had collapsed, his Jushin transformation fading as his body finally gave out from exhaustion since it was the first time, his body couldn't contain him for more than a 1 minute.
High above, Huey floated silently, his gaze locked onto the unconscious boy below.
In his mind, something troubled him.
"A hybrid never helps humanity… they exist only for destruction and for the Celestial Beings."
And yet, Jushin had saved Seoul.
Sakamoto had formed a bond maybe?
Huey clenched his fists in frustration. "Bartoni… this is your doing."
But now, he had a chance to correct it.
He descended, gliding toward the unconscious Sakamoto, determined to extract the hybrid once and for all.
Before he could reach him—THWOOOSH!
Thomas and Frozen landed in front of Sakamoto, standing firm.
Huey smiled darkly.
"Do you two really think you can stop me?"
As he raised his hand to unleash destruction— and then His body suddenly vanished.
A second later, Huey reappeared elsewhere, in a different place,His face darkened. Circe had summoned him away.
And just like that—
the battle in Seoul had come to an end.
