Chapter 136 - Chapter 137: Mimicry Magic

Chapter 137: Mimicry Magic

On the tenth day since George's new panda clone appeared, he was inside the box learning Mimicry Magic from Drake.

This was Drake's most proficient magic and the reason he had become a world-class magician.

To be honest, after getting a basic understanding of it, George felt that this magic shared some similarities with the Transfiguration Charm.

One aspect of the Transfiguration Charm was the ability to transform inanimate objects into living creatures. For example, Professor McGonagall often turned desks into pigs.

However, the transformed creatures usually adopted the thought processes of the corresponding animals, so they couldn't be controlled by the wizard in most cases.

Except for a few independent spells derived from the Transfiguration Charm, such as Draco Malfoy's Snake Summoning Spell and Hermione's Bird Summoning Spell, which allowed the wizard to command the transformed creatures in combat.

Mimicry Magic had a similar effect but was divided into two main aspects.

The first aspect allowed the summoning of creatures from paintings into reality through Mimicry Magic, transforming them into real creatures that could assist in combat. For example, if you had a tiger in a painting, you could summon it to help you fight.

Of course, at the beginner level, summoning a chicken was considered impressive. Drake often used this trick to perform rabbit transformations.

The second aspect allowed the transformation of existing sculptures into living, special creatures that could be controlled to fight.

For instance, if you saw a stone lion statue on the side of the road, you could use Mimicry Magic to give it life, turning it into a real, movable stone lion to fight for you.

If you mimicked a stone bird, the stone bird could even fly.

This was somewhat different from the Animation Charm in the Harry Potter world. The Animation Charm brought inanimate objects to life, but only to the extent of making them alive. Without additional spells, the animated objects wouldn't have special abilities.

For example, if you animated a stone bird, it might be able to talk, run, and jump, but it definitely wouldn't fly because it was still made of stone.

Just as George was immersed in learning this magic, the lid of the box suddenly opened, and David's panicked voice came through.

"George, come out and save me! There's really a sorcerer trying to kill me, and he's released a pack of wolves!"

"Finally, it's happening!"

George's heart stirred. He knew that Balthazar and Horvath's seal must have been broken, and Horvath had come for the dragon ring and Morgana's nesting doll seal.

Jumping out of the box, George shielded David and swatted away two ferocious wolves that lunged at them with a wave of his bear paw. The wolves turned back into paper and fell to the ground.

"A panda?"

Seeing the wolves he had summoned with Mimicry Magic being effortlessly turned back into paper, Horvath, dressed in a coat and holding a cane, walked over with a puzzled expression.

He hadn't expected David to have a panda as a pet guarding him.

"A mere panda won't save you."

Pointing his cane at the iron handrail of the nearby staircase, Horvath pulled it out, transforming it into a sharp spear that shot toward George.

"Using a metal weapon against me? You're asking for trouble!"

Seeing the iron spear flying toward him, George raised his bear paw, and his telekinetic ability instantly activated, stopping the spear in mid-air.

No matter how much Horvath tried to control the spear with magic, it remained motionless.

"Here, take it back!"

With a wave of his paw, George sent the spear flying back at Horvath at an even faster speed.

Seeing the spear coming back at him, Horvath's expression changed slightly. He waved his cane, and a powerful force diverted the spear's trajectory, causing it to fly past him.

"A magical panda, huh?"

Horvath's expression grew slightly more serious.

However, the next second, his body was pierced through by the spear from behind.

George had controlled the spear using his telekinetic ability, not magic. Dodging once wasn't enough. As long as the spear was within range, George could keep controlling it with magnetic force.

"Well, you've surprised me."

Horvath looked at the metal spear that had pierced through his chest from behind, showing a hint of surprise but no fear.

His body instantly turned into a swarm of cockroaches, then reformed into his human shape, with the spear now expelled from his body.

"As expected of a thousand-year-old sorcerer. He's got some tricks up his sleeve."

George couldn't help but admire this move. This magic made Horvath immune to any physical attacks.

Even if someone shot him with a Gatling gun, creating countless holes in his body, he could just turn into cockroaches and reform. It was just a bit disgusting to watch.

"Go!"

After reforming, Horvath raised his cane, and an invisible force shot toward George.

If George were hit, even with his panda body, he'd likely be sent flying by the powerful force.

"Protego!"

Fortunately, George wasn't weak either. Sensing the incoming energy, he cast a Shield Charm in front of himself, blocking the powerful force.

At the same time, a faint green light began to glow in his paw.

"Avada Kedavra!"

George wasn't one to just take hits. Since Horvath could turn into cockroaches to avoid physical attacks, he decided to use the Killing Curse to target his soul directly.

Horvath, who had initially been dismissive, sensed the deathly energy emanating from the green light and his expression changed drastically. Not daring to take the hit, he quickly waved his hand and moved a nearby trash can to block the curse.

The green light hit the trash can, sending it flying, but the curse dissipated without hitting Horvath.

"The Killing Curse is powerful, but its accuracy is too low. I'll have to find a way to improve it later."

Seeing the Killing Curse blocked, George didn't give up. Instead, he cast another spell.

"Sectumsempra!"

A transparent blade shot out, and because it was invisible and concealed, Horvath didn't have time to react. Even though he turned into cockroaches, when he reformed, there was a wound on his waist.

What's worse, the wound seemed to be affected by a special force, and his body's healing ability couldn't close it.

"Damn panda, I'll kill you!"

Injured for the first time in years, Horvath was furious. Aside from Balthazar, no one had been able to harm him like this.

"Stone Golem!"

Horvath thrust his cane into the ground, and the earth began to morph. In the blink of an eye, a five-meter-tall stone golem emerged and charged toward George and David.

"Mimicry Magic can be used like this? Impressive!"

George couldn't help but marvel at the stone golem charging at him. He hadn't seen this move in the movies.

Fortunately, he had a countermeasure.

"Bombarda!"
