Chapter 11 - Unexpected Closeness & Hidden Desires

Scene 1: Morning Confusion & Secret Moments

(Sunlight dances on Yun-Hee's face as she stirs awake. Stretching, she blinks in confusion, realizing she's in her room.)

Yun-Hee (groggy): "Wait… wasn't I in the living room?"

(She frowns, recalling how she had dozed off on the couch. Before she can process more, there's a knock at the door.)

Mr. Kim (firmly): "Come down for breakfast. Now."

(His voice sends a shiver down her spine. She hears his footsteps fading away. Flustered, she gets up.)

(As she walks downstairs, she finds Si-Woo munching on toast, scrolling through his phone.)

Yun-Hee (sitting beside him): "Si-Woo, do you know how I got to my room?"

(Si-Woo smirks, taking a slow sip of his coffee.)

Si-Woo (teasingly): "Oh? You don't remember? Mr. Kim carried you in his arms—like a bride."

(Yun-Hee nearly chokes on air, eyes widening in horror.)

Yun-Hee (whisper-yelling): "WHAT?!"

(Before Si-Woo can respond, Mr. Kim enters, looking calm but unreadable. Yun-Hee immediately avoids eye contact, her heartbeat racing.)

(As she fumbles with her food, she can feel Mr. Kim's intense gaze on her. The tension thickens.)

Mr. Kim (coolly): "Eat properly."

(Before Yun-Hee can respond, his phone rings. He answers it, voice clipped and serious.)

Mr. Kim: "I'll be there in 20 minutes."

(He stands, adjusting his tie. As he moves past Yun-Hee, his hand lightly brushes against her back—whether intentional or not, she can't tell. She stiffens at the warmth.)

Mr. Kim (softly, near her ear): "Don't skip meals."

(Then, he's gone, leaving Yun-Hee breathless.)

(Si-Woo watches her reaction and smirks knowingly.)

Si-Woo (teasing): "Oh? You're blushing."

Yun-Hee (flustered): "Shut up, Si-Woo!"

Scene 2: Unexpected Lunch Delivery & Heartbeats

(Later at work, as Yun-Hee is buried in tasks, her phone buzzes. It's Mr. Kim.)

Mr. Kim: "I sent lunch. Eat properly."

Yun-Hee (blinking in surprise): "You didn't have to—"

(Click. He hangs up.)

(Minutes later, Chan-Su, Mr. Kim's assistant, walks in with a luxurious packed meal.)

Chan-Su (grinning): "Boss said no arguments. Just eat."

Si-Woo (raising an eyebrow): "Since when did he become your personal chef?"

(Yun-Hee groans, feeling everyone's eyes on her. But secretly, her heart flutters.)

(As she opens the lunchbox, a small note falls out. Curious, she picks it up. It's in Mr. Kim's neat handwriting.)

"Don't argue. Just eat."

(Yun-Hee stares at the words, feeling warmth spread through her chest. Why did such a simple thing make her feel… cared for?)

Scene 3: Late-Night Encounter & Closer Than Ever

(That night, Yun-Hee is about to sleep when she hears a loud crash from Mr. Kim's room. Alarmed, she rushes over and pushes the door open.)

(She finds Mr. Kim in the bathroom, sitting against the wall. His usually sharp features look pale, his forehead damp with sweat.)

Yun-Hee (rushing to him): "Mr. Kim! What's wrong?"

(Mr. Kim exhales, looking away.)

Mr. Kim (low voice): "It's nothing. Go back to sleep."

Yun-Hee (firmly): "Like hell I will!"

(She kneels beside him, touching his forehead. Her fingers graze his skin, and Mr. Kim stiffens slightly.)

Yun-Hee (softly): "You have a fever… Did you even eat dinner?"

(Mr. Kim doesn't respond. That's answer enough.)

(Without another word, Yun-Hee storms out, heading to the kitchen.)

Scene 4: Midnight Kitchen & Forbidden Tension

(As Yun-Hee starts cooking, she hears footsteps. Mr. Kim is leaning against the counter, watching her.)

Mr. Kim (lowly): "I told you not to bother."

Yun-Hee (glancing at him): "And I told you to shut up and sit down."

(She's too focused on cooking to notice Mr. Kim stepping closer. When she turns, she nearly bumps into his chest. He doesn't move.)

Yun-Hee (blinking, heart pounding): "Personal space…?"

(Mr. Kim smirks, his fingers lightly brushing against her wrist.)

Mr. Kim (softly): "Why? Does my closeness make you nervous?"

(Yun-Hee opens her mouth, but no words come out. The air crackles between them.)

Yun-Hee (clearing throat, pushing him away lightly): "I need to cook. Move."

(Mr. Kim leans in slightly, whispering near her ear.)

Mr. Kim: "You're lucky I'm sick. Otherwise…"

(Yun-Hee's breath catches, but before she can ask what he means, he steps back.)

Scene 5: The Unexpected Stay

(After finishing, Yun-Hee brings the food to Mr. Kim's room. He eats silently, then sets the bowl down.)

Mr. Kim: "Stay."

(Yun-Hee blinks, unsure if she heard right.)

Yun-Hee: "…What?"

Mr. Kim (calmly): "Stay here. Tonight."

(The words send a shockwave through Yun-Hee. Her heartbeat speeds up.)

Yun-Hee (nervous laugh): "N-No way! I'll go to my room."

(She stands to leave, but before she can take a step, Mr. Kim grabs her wrist. His grip is warm, firm.)

Mr. Kim (low voice, intense gaze): "Don't go."

(Yun-Hee swallows hard. His eyes—dark, deep, unreadable—hold her in place. She tries to ignore the way her pulse races at his touch.)

(Mr. Kim gently tugs her closer, until there's barely any space between them. Yun-Hee sucks in a breath.)

Mr. Kim (husky whisper): "Just tonight."

(Yun-Hee's knees feel weak. Her heart pounds violently against her chest. He's too close. Too warm. Too… intoxicating.)

Yun-Hee (whispering): "Mr. Kim…"

(Silence. Heavy, electrifying silence. Then—he slowly releases her wrist, allowing her to decide.)

(With a deep breath, Yun-Hee hesitates, then finally steps away, turning her back to him.)

Yun-Hee (softly): "Goodnight."

(She leaves. But as she closes the door behind her, she leans against it, clutching her chest, trying to calm her wildly beating heart.)
