The next day—

Although the officials were somewhat surprised to see Ye Wen handling official duties, none of the high-ranking officials in the Holy Spirit Empire's decision-making circle were fools. Those who were well-informed had long known about Ye Wen and Bibi Dong's relationship, so no unnecessary trouble arose.

When Ye Wen got serious, handling the bureaucratic affairs of this feudal era was as easy for him as solving middle school problems for a college student—it was laughably simple.

However, at this moment, one person—or rather, one god—was in an exceptionally foul mood.

The Asura God of the god realm wore a troubled expression. The fact that the City of Slaughter, a place where both the Asura and Rakshasa gods had achieved enlightenment, had been completely taken over by the second-generation Rakshasa God (Bibi Dong) without leaving any room for him, infuriated him.

Though the City of Slaughter had been destroyed by the second quasi-Asura God Tang San, and it no longer held much value for the Asura God, this didn't stop him from harboring deep resentment toward Bibi Dong and Ye Wen.

Such was the domineering nature of the Asura God.

At this moment, his eyes radiated icy killing intent as he watched Tang San undergo his divine trial.

He glanced at his stagnant pool of faith energy.

"This amount is more than enough for this brat to reach the peak of Tier 2 godhood, especially with the added boost of my Asura Divine Core.

Angel, Rakshasa, Sea God? Hmph."

Suppressed laughter echoed through the Asura Shrine.

Due to the various disturbances caused earlier, Douluo Star was now under close scrutiny by the gods of the god realm, preventing the Asura God from making any covert moves.

However, strengthening his second-generation successor fell within the rules. The Asura God channeled his malice toward Ye Wen and the others into reinforcing Tang San.

Unfortunately for him, Ye Wen's greatest skill was hiding his cards. Aside from the closed domain that the Asura God had glimpsed once, Ye Wen's other trump cards remained concealed. If the Asura God had seen them, he wouldn't be feeling so confident right now—he'd be thinking about running away instead.

Time flew by, and five years had passed since the founding of the Holy Spirit Empire.

In those five years, the Holy Spirit Empire had completely shed the shadow of the Tian Dou Empire, ushering in a new era of prosperity.

Since the written language of the Douluo Continent evolved from pictographic characters similar to those of Ye Wen's past life, basic vocabulary consisted of only about a thousand words. This made the foundational literacy campaign in the Holy Spirit Empire remarkably easy to complete.

During this time, Ye Wen also completed agricultural reforms, updating primitive farming methods and significantly increasing crop yields.

And during these five years, Ye Wen's fourth child was born.

As Bibi Dong had said, Ye Tianhun was an adorable boy, delicate and refined like a porcelain doll.

At just three years old, he perfectly inherited the genes of both Bibi Dong and Ye Wen. His golden hair and black-purple eyes gave him an air of nobility despite his tender age.

However, in such a family, this noble aura held no intimidation—it only made Ye Wen's other three children dote on him endlessly, spoiling their youngest brother to the skies.

After all, Ye Tianxin and her two siblings were born around the same time, so the age gap between them and Ye Tianhun made him an endless source of curiosity and affection.

If Ye Wen hadn't thought Ye Tianhun was still too young, he would have imposed strict discipline to prevent him from being spoiled rotten.

As for martial souls, Ye Wen had reshaped Ye Tianhun's bloodline essence.

Bibi Dong's twin martial souls were top-tier super spider-type martial souls, but even she found them ugly. After ascending to godhood, she fused them into a giant scythe—the Rakshasa Demon Scythe.

However, the Rakshasa God position wasn't suitable for little Ye Tianhun.

Thus, Ye Wen helped remove the evil power associated with the Rakshasa God, leaving Ye Tianhun's martial soul with only the fundamental attributes of soul-devouring and death. He also granted him a unique domain that combined these two traits—the Purgatory Domain. Its effect caused all life within its range to fall into negative emotions, weakening their combat abilities.

But Ye Wen felt this wasn't enough. So, he borrowed some essence from Di Tian, infusing the dark origin of the former God King into Ye Tian Hun's martial soul.

After all, as a former God King, Di Tian's bloodline essence was no weaker than that of the Ice and Fire Dragon King.

As for the name of the martial soul, though Ye Wen was terrible at naming things, he decided Purgatory Demon Scythe sounded fitting. A boy wielding a scythe needed a name that was imposing and majestic.

A demonic scythe that brought purgatory-like terror—shortened to Purgatory Demon Scythe. Perfect.

Like his three older siblings, Ye Tianhun also possessed twin martial souls. His second martial soul was Ye Wen's Sea God.

At this moment, the Ye family was gathered for a meal.

Watching his harmonious family, Ye Wen's lips curled into a content smile. Having come from a lonely orphaned past, he felt truly blessed to have such a loving family in this world.

Though happiness was finite, it could also be continuously created. Ye Wen felt it was time.

For large-scale powers, absolute secrecy was hard to maintain.

As news of the Holy Spirit Empire's conscription efforts and the transportation of supplies to the frontlines gradually reached the White Tiger Emperor, the rare Title Douluo-level emperor stared gravely at the sand table before him.

Because the Holy Spirit Empire had refrained from attacking, corruption had begun to fester once again within the Star Luo Empire.

After all, a group of frogs at the bottom of a well had gained unprecedented confidence from the ten Title Douluos of the Hao Tian Sect.

At this moment, Tang Xiao, the current Hao Tian King who stood just below the emperor, also looked grimly at the intelligence report.

Over the past five years, Tang Xiao's strength had reached the peak of level 97. Due to his current status, he felt he had nearly touched the threshold of level 98, filling him with joy. He believed he might even be able to restore the glory of his grandfather, Tang Chen.

"Hao Tian King, what do you think?" asked the White Tiger Emperor.

Tang Xiao turned his gaze toward the White Tiger Emperor but remained silent, only shaking his head slightly.

Seeing this, the White Tiger Emperor sighed deeply.

Over the past five years, he had meticulously reviewed every move the Holy Spirit Empire had made, yet he still couldn't understand why they were expending so much effort on those lowly commoners.

What could a bunch of cannon fodder peasant soldiers do, no matter how knowledgeable or physically strong they were, against powerful soul masters?

He knew Tang Xiao didn't understand either.

The only thing the White Tiger Emperor could grasp was the significance of road construction.

The purpose of roads was easy to deduce, and he understood their importance in warfare. He had even ordered the repair of the main roads within his empire, but the results were minimal.

Even whipping those lowly commoners to work on the roads couldn't match the efficiency of the Holy Spirit Empire.

At first, the White Tiger Emperor thought it was a matter of funding and tried to emulate the Holy Spirit Empire, but those commoners simply refused to cooperate.

Despite his desire to investigate the situation on the frontlines, the White Tiger Emperor faced layers of obstruction and couldn't make any progress.

Thankfully, the main roads for transporting food supplies had been repaired. Otherwise, the White Tiger Emperor would have been driven to murder—who were these useless teammates?!
