Chapter 16 – Trouble Finds Olivia
Ella gasped, not expecting to have exerted her full power. Without even thinking, she had unleashed her Primordial Force at 100 percent, leaving her dizzy.
"Haa... Haa... I'm sure those bastards are dead," she muttered, catching her breath.
She cautiously surveyed the surroundings. Though her Primordial Sense could no longer cover the entire area due to her depleted force, she still had her physical strength. Without stopping, she moved back and forth, ensuring there were no lingering threats.
An hour passed. After confirming that her opponents were truly dead, she flew back up into the dim sky. By now, her Primordial Force had begun slowly recovering, restoring about one percent of her original strength—just enough to move freely.
She then turned her gaze toward the broken space around her, watching as cracks flickered and slowly mended themselves.
"Even space heals itself… what a spectacular phenomenon," she murmured in amazement.
Scratching her head, she refocused her thoughts.
"Hm. Whatever. It doesn't matter. I need to recover my full strength so I can crush anyone who dares hurt Vivi."
Resolving herself, she gathered her Primordial Force to accelerate the recovery of her Ascendant Core. Instead of descending to the ground—where ambushes were likely—she remained in the sky. The current atmosphere was terrifying, enough to deter most gods from approaching, making it the safest place for her to concentrate on restoring her strength.
On the other side of the Secret Realm, Olivia had also sensed the earlier clash. Concern for her sister weighed on her, prompting her to consult her system for answers.
Her voice was soft but filled with worry.
"Eri is so reckless..."
However, she could do nothing for now—their distance was too far, and flying in Ella's direction would not be easy. Besides, Olivia had her own problems to deal with.
"That woman robbed me and forced me to kneel! Capture her! She wasn't my only victim!"
A frustrated voice echoed across the area, drawing Olivia's attention.
Her expression darkened as she realized she was surrounded by dozens of lesser gods—all Primal Nexus Realm cultivators.
Her gaze swept over them.
"Hmm… at least 40 of them. Tsk. These people are persistent."
Frustration bubbled within her. Earlier, she had been observing a group when a lesser god approached her—completely mesmerized by her beauty.
The woman beside him had instantly grown jealous and falsely accused Olivia of theft. Though Olivia had not actually stolen anything, she had forced them to kneel before leaving. She had gained minor battle experience from the system, but nothing significant.
Now, however, there were even more of them, and their hatred had escalated.
"I didn't take any treasure, you shameless people!" she snapped.
She turned to run, but before she could escape, a handsome man in luxurious robes blocked her path.
His voice oozed arrogance.
"Girl, submit to me, and I'll protect you from them."
Without hesitation, Olivia's palm lashed out—her slap sent the man flying into the nearby forest, cratering the ground on impact.
"Annoying! Trying to deceive me again? Hmph. Then I'll deceive you all too!"
She flew at full speed, dodging the encirclement.
"Catch that thief!" the lesser gods roared in unison.
However, not all of them agreed. Some were too mesmerized by her beauty, their ulterior motives preventing them from attacking outright.
After an hour of evasion, Olivia finally distanced herself from the pursuers.
She remained cautious, sensing a presence below. Looking down, her eyes narrowed as she confirmed it was a person.
Descending carefully, her suspicions were proven correct.
A red-haired man sat beneath the shattered landscape—none other than Wutian.
Shock flashed in Wutian's eyes.
"Impossible… how did she locate me?"
He had activated a concealment formation, blending with the air using basic space principles—yet Olivia had seen through it.
Though startled, he quickly composed himself. After all, he had seen many prodigies in the Demon Realm.
His expression was calm, but his gaze lingered on Olivia's face.
"Good grief… this girl is a top-tier beauty."
His lips curled into a smooth smile.
"Young lady, what brings you here? Do you need something?"
Observing Wutian, Olivia contemplated briefly before responding.
Her voice trembled with emotion.
"I'm being chased… they accused me of theft… huhu..."
Tears welled in her eyes as she spoke. Frustration, anger, and a deep distrust toward the world made her emotions genuine—even though she was also acting.
"Eri is the only one I can trust. She's not a liar like them..." she thought to herself.
Wutian narrowed his eyes, considering her words.
"Could it be… they want this girl's body?"
He chuckled inwardly.
"Heh. Makes sense. With a figure and face like hers, she could easily become the most beautiful woman in this entire heaven."
Feigning righteous fury, he spoke.
"How dare they bully an innocent girl?! They're courting death!"
His outrage seemed genuine, but deep down, he had already made up his mind—
"I've finally found my second wife."
Before they could continue talking, a group of lesser gods hovered above, scanning the area.
"Damn it! Where is that girl?!"
One of them scowled, his gaze sweeping the landscape.
Another frowned.
"Her aura disappeared right here… but where is she hiding?"
They exchanged confused glances, unable to detect anything.
One of them gritted his teeth.
"If only her technique wasn't so profound, we could've caught her already! No matter. We'll find her eventually."
They lingered for a few more moments before flying off.
Hearing their conversation, Olivia's expression darkened.
"These people… they really are trash."
For the first time, she realized that everyone she had encountered so far had been liars, deceivers, and greedy scum.
Her perception of the world shifted.
"I can't trust anyone anymore… except for Eri."
Even Wutian, standing beside her, was not exempt from her suspicions.
Wutian, however, noticed her anger and smirked.
"I can help you take revenge on them," he offered. "You seem too innocent. Were you raised in a wealthy family? Pampered daily? You're too clueless… too naive. Let me lend you a hand."
Hearing the word "revenge," Olivia's eyes flickered coldly.
Her long lashes trembled as she smiled sweetly, her innocent charm undisturbed.
"Really? You'll help me?"
Though her voice was filled with delight, she still didn't fully trust him.
Wutian grinned.
"Of course. We'll rob them one by one… and frame one of their friends for it."
Olivia's eyes widened in shock—she hadn't expected him to be this shameless.
Her wariness deepened… yet she still agreed.
"Then let's go."
With innocent determination, Olivia and Wutian took off—soaring through the air, searching for her pursuers.
As they flew, Wutian asked,
"By the way, what's your name?"
Olivia didn't hesitate.
"I'm Olivia."
Suddenly—
"Growl!"
Her stomach rumbled.
Silence.
Wutian nearly burst into laughter.
"She really is innocent… and adorable."
His favorability toward her grew—his resolve to win her over only strengthening.
