"Where did you hear something like that from?" His voice was low, rough, dangerous. His face darkened as his eyes bore into mine, and for a brief second, I felt a chill crawl down my spine.
"Can you let go, please."
I shifted uncomfortably under his touch, my body reacting far too much to his proximity. The heat radiating from his skin made my pulse quicken, my thoughts scatter. It wasn't fair, how easily he did this to me. How a simple touch, a look, could unravel me completely.
I couldn't think straight with him so close. And right now, I needed my mind to be clear. I needed to be able to decide what I should and shouldn't say.
"No." He said firmly, his grip still right. "Now answer me. Where did you hear that?"
Christian's cologne, woody—warm, with a hint of spice hit my nose, invading my senses, and it made it even harder to focus.
My head felt heavy, as if it wanted to give in and rest against his chest. For one brief, shameful second, I almost did.
