A mountain stands tall between heaven and earth. Though it cannot be said to be the tallest among all, it still is bigger than most adjacent mountains.
A waterfall can be seen winding along the mountain downwards nourishing the ground and passing through the ancient boulder that sits in the soil for who knows how long. It can be said that it has withstood the test of time.
A snake can be seen baring its fangs towards a rabbit that suddenly appeared from behind the ancient trees located on a cliff just above the waterfall.
You can see stone steps at the base of the mountain that take you upwards towards a verdant and luxurious greenery that you would miss if it were modern times. The vines coil amongst themselves on ancient trees that stand tall as if they have always existed. If you look closely, you can see a small Taoist temple on the second longest peak of the mountain enjoying the shade of another peak behind.
The temple looks so ancient with a solemn atmosphere that people would be mesmerized by its presence itself. It blends with nature so well as if, if it wasn't there the scenery would be incomplete without it.
As we move up the mountain, a young Taoist priest can be seen hatching at the log to make firewood. He is humming along the rhythm of the axe being swung and the wood being cut.
"Changsheng"
A voice that seems far away yet so near calls for him. Changsheng stops doing what he was busy with and responds
"Yes, master"
"Come here"
Entering the quaint pavilion, one can see a peach tree with its branches spread around swaying with the wind.
An old Taoist priest who is sitting cross-legged and meditating opens his eyes when Changsheng enters the room. His eyes are like the deep blue sea full of depth and longitude of time.
The young Taoist priest bows to the old man and salutes him.
P.S. This is the author's first work so feel free to criticise and give loads of love if you liked what you read. I need comments to know whether I can continue writing or not.
