A girl named Gowri who was radiant , with beauty that captivates and cleverness that inspires.
She never spoke a word to boys , not that she was arrogant but was shy and didn't felt any need to do so .
One morning air was crisp as Gowri walked through the empty school corridors, her footsteps echoing in the silence. Something felt strange - too quiet. She glanced around , expecting to see her classmates , but the only people in sight were a few seniors scattered across the campus. A frown creased her forehead . Where is everyone?
Before she could make sense of it , a familiar figure approached -- her strictest teacher , Mrs. Sharma. Gowri's heart pounded . She had never once broken a rule , yet standing there under the teachers sharp gaze , she felt as thought she had done something terribly wrong.
"Why are you here, Gowri ?" Mrs Dharma asked, her voice firm. "Don't you know its a holiday today?"
Gowri's breath caught . A Holiday? No one had told her . Embarrassed flushed her cheeks as she quietly responded , "I -I didn't know , ma'am . I'm sorry."
Mrs Dharma sighed but didn't seem angry ."it's alright. Since you're here, go to your class and solve the papers I gave yesterday." Without waiting for a reply, she turned and led Gowri toward the classroom.
As they entered , Gowri halted mid-step. Someone was already there . A boy.
He sat at the second bench of the class , wearing a Greg hoodie , his head slightly titled down . She had never seen him before.
Mrs.Dharma gestured toward him. "This is my son, Aarav . He's new here . If you have any doubts , you can ask him or me ." With tha , she left to attend to her senior students , leaving them alone
Gpwru hesitated before walking to the last bench , her usual spot . She pulled out her book and began solving the questions, trying to ignore the unfamiliar presence in the room . But then , his voice cut through the silence .
"Hey , do you have any doubt's?"
Her hands froze . For a moment , she wondered that , 'Did he tell that to me '. She had never spoken to any boy before. But when she lifted her gaze , Aarav was looking directly at her ,waiting for an answer.
She swallowed . "Uh....yes."
A small , easy smile played on his lips as he stood up and moved to the seat in front of her."Here , let me show you."
As he explained the problem , his voice steady and patient ,Gowri left something unfamiliar stir within her. A conversation . A connection . And for the first time in her life , she realized - speaking to a boy wasn as daunting as she had imagined.
By the time she walked home that day , her heart was lighter , a smile unconsciously tugging at her lips . Today was different . Special . And she knew she would remember it forever....
