Aside from the sound of my feet crushing the gravel beneath me, the seaport was silent.
It wasn't the peaceful kind of silence, but the thick, choking kind that settles after a brutal storm.
The creature stood over me, it's chest heaving up and down like a deadly drumbeat. Blood — if one could even call the thick, purple liquid pumping through the veins visible around the reddened damaged areas of its body.
My gaze remained fixed on it as I approached.
The Calamity Creature had broken all expectations I had for it. Being not just strong, but fast and the crazy part of it all was its ability to pick out weak points like a skilled fighter — a brutal one.
But in that moment, I wasn't thinking about any of that.
I exhaled slowly while raising my palm with just about the same speed.
