Jihoon pressed his ear against the door, brows drawn in concentration as he strained to catch any sound coming from outside. It had been minutes since the confrontation, but the tension still clung to the air like humidity before a storm.
He'd heard some shuffling noises earlier, but now, everything had gone eerily quiet. Jihoon felt like he couldn't hear a thing.
'Did he leave?'
Just as Jihoon allowed his shoulders to relax, a sudden, thunderous bang exploded right by his ear. The jolt sent him stumbling backward, heart in his throat–only to be caught by Ryul's strong arms from behind.
"DON'T THINK I'LL GIVE UP LIKE THIS, YOU BASTARD!" Taeoh's voice screeched through the door like a blade against glass.
"HOW DARE YOU MEET SOMEONE ELSE BEHIND MY BACK!!"
Another guttural cry tore from Taeoh's throat, raw with rage, making Jihoon flinch at the sound. He instinctively reached back to grasp Ryul's hand, and the man squeezed his fingers firmly in return, reassuring him.
