The rest of the day passed uneventfully for James, as after handling all his business, he found himself with nothing else to do.
He was starting to feel restless again and so, he did what he always did in moments like these — he distracted himself.
He spent hours mindlessly scrolling through his phone, jumping from one random article to another, watching videos, reading discussions on financial forums, and occasionally checking the memecoin stats.
After a while, he got tired and switched to gaming. But even as he played, there was an underlying emptiness that lingered.
James found it odd that apart from Leslie, Patty, and Ralph, there was no one else he could talk to. He has no friends.
And that realization was… unsettling.
For some reason, he had never really thought about it before, until today. Maybe it was because he was always busy worrying about his actual life, and had no time to dwell on things like that. But it didn't mean that he has never asked himself that question.
