Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A contract in the rain

The rain fell in sheets over the rooftops of the city. A shadow stood motionless on a ledge, observing the alley below.

The man he was waiting for was late.

Under the hood of his black coat, Akira narrowed his eyes. A faint blue glimmer crossed his icy gaze. His gift was activating.

**Chrono-Vision: 3 seconds into the future.**

In his vision, he saw the metal door open and a figure step forward under the light of a broken streetlamp.

He's coming.

Three seconds later, the scene unfolded exactly as he had seen it.

A man in a suit, nervous, adjusted his tie before looking up at him.

— Black Phantom… he whispered.

Akira jumped from the ledge, landing smoothly in front of him. He wore no mask, but his name alone was enough to chill the blood of his targets.

— Speak, he ordered in a calm voice.

The man swallowed hard and handed him a USB key.

— Here is your next contract. The target… is a 17-year-old girl.

Akira frowned.

— I don't kill children.

— She's not a child, the man corrected. She's a monster.

Silence. Only the raindrops echoed around them.

Akira took the USB key, inserted it into his mini-projector, and watched the file appear before his eyes.

**Name:** Hoshino Mayu

**Age:** 17

**Status:** Extremely Dangerous

**Mission:** Immediate Elimination

A photo appeared.

A girl with long silver hair, wearing a sweet smile. She looked like an ordinary high school student… except for one detail.

In her gaze, he saw something strange. A glow, almost unreal.

As if she could see the future too.

A shiver ran through Akira. For the first time in a long while, he felt that this contract would be different.

Very different.
