Chapter 14 - New stuff - Chapter 11

Writer Notes?Idk:

When I reach around 50 k words I will re-read everything that I wrote and then rewrite everything. This means I will add more character development, add more humor(maybe), add more scenes to make it more human and overall better. It will take time and I might just delete all the old chapters or just post the rewritten chapters as a new fanfic that will have "rewritten" in the title. Just letting you know.

Might also add new chapters between the rewritten ones to add more stuff.

Do you want some things that you think are good to be added in the rewritten chapters? Let me know and I might just add it or take it away if it's bad.

I started this fanfic not knowing where it was heading but now I have a pretty good general idea now…so yea.

(New Stuff? – Chapter 11)

(Next Morning)

"Yawww-AH, shit!" I bolted upright in bed and immediately regretted everything. My whole body felt like it had been run over by a semi-truck but instead it was made of fists.

{Well, well, well. Maybe don't get your ass handed to you by some, want to be delinquents. I mean who the hell steals Pokémon games and a yo-yo? What's next lunchables?}

"It's not my fault I'm a middle schooler! And also I was investigating an interdimensional portal!"

{Eh. Potato, potahto. You still got folded like a lawn chair.}

I groaned, and dragged myself out of bed, every joint crackling like popcorn. "I'm pretty sure I could beat them if I used the Hellsing gun or bit down on Sonic's Quill and blitzed them into the pavement."

{Oh, for sure. I doubt they can tank bullets, electrocution, or a 70-mph punch to the chest.}

"Exactly."

{...Unless you're planning to murder them, maybe don't go full Doomguy on them. Just saying.}

"…yea true..."

I glanced at my Triple Eclipse staff leaning against the wall. It hummed softly, as if it wanted revenge too. But realistically? If I didn't know how to properly fight with it, those guys could probably just yoink it from me and use it to turn me into the human equivalent of a piñata.

I did train but training does not suddenly make me batman…

Sighing, I reached for the candy bag I got. "And this?" I muttered, pulling out a Jellybean of Mystery. "Fun. Wild. But not exactly revenge-tier weaponry. It's literally just a bag of Pinkie Pie."

{Sugar, chaos, and glitter. Not exactly the John Wick loadout.}

"…I could use my gacha points though."

{Now that's an idea.}

I blinked. "Wait. HOLY SHIT!I forgot I had points! How many do I have again?!"

{Let's see… carry the four… subtract your shitty luck… You've got 457 gacha points.}

"…That's it?"

{That's not nothing, buddy. That's like a budget shopping spree! Go crazy. Get violent… responsibly.}

Cracking my knuckles, I opened the gacha system and pulled up the Shop menu.

Immediately, I was bombarded with ads.

"THESE ITEMS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!" "BUY THE LOVE GODDESS COSTUME PACK (18+)!" "LIMITED TIME! SUMMON YOUR VERY OWN 2B FROM NIER AU-

Pop-ups slammed my screen like a virus-ridden anime website from 2007. I had to close, like, five windows before I even found the search bar.

"Okay, okay…" I muttered, typing carefully. "Search: 'Combat Skills.'"

Because let's be honest, magic and items are cool and all, but if I'm gonna throw hands again like a crack addict in the corner of a popeyes then I have to make sure the hands actually connect. That fight at Canterlot High was humiliating. They didn't just beat me, they humiliated me.

I was going to get stronger.

I was going to learn how to fight.

And next time?

When they try to steal my shit...

They better be fucking ready

(10 minutes later)

Damn...

Everything is expensive… Too expensive…

I stared at the screen, eyes twitching, as if the prices would somehow drop.

"Look at this shit!"

 leaned back, rubbing my eyes.

"…EVERYTHING costs so much. Why does Shadow Step cost all of my points and more?!"

{Because anime powers aren't cheap, my guy. You think they would be handing these out in cereal boxes?}

"Man… Do I buy one of these? Or save up for something better like a Legendary or even a Mythic item or skill?"

{ what if you need an item in the future? Healing? Armor?These skills won't help if you're getting stabbed with no pants on.}

"…That's… weirdly accurate."

457 points...

I stared at Shadow Step again. Then at Iron Tail. Then back to my points. Damn…

Choices.

Hard, choices

(5 Minutes later)

Okay… so after nearly giving myself a migraine over finding some other skills that were useless, expensive or straight up confusing. I finally came to a decision.

I'll save.

Yeah, I could blow 420 to 480 points right now on something flashy, Shadow Step, Iron Tail, maybe even Ki Burst Strike if I wanted to cosplay as budget Goku. But none of them really felt like me.

Lucky Flip Combat Flow though? That one stuck in my head.

Stylish. Versatile. Annoyingly effective.

If I'm gonna pick a skill that shapes my movement, timing, and fighting style permanently, I might as well make sure it doesn't just work, it works with flair.

{Rarity will love this}

Plus, when I buy a skill, the system adjusts my body to better suit it. I'll move easier, land cleaner, flip smoother. Sure, it doesn't make me a pro overnight, I'll still have to train the technique but the foundation will be there.

Worth it? Maybe.

Dumb? Definitely.

My kind of gamble.

{Ooooooh, character growth! You're actually learning patience! Quickly, someone call Celestia, we got a friendship lesson to file.}

"Yeah yeah," I muttered, closing the shop window. "I can always change my mind later if I find something cooler."

{Also a quick side thought: are the Elements of Harmony… fruits?}

"…What?"

{Think about it. They come from a tree. Tree of Harmony. That makes them magical friendship fruit.}

"…Huh. That's actually kind of true…Okay, that's enough thinking for one day."

Still chuckling a little, I flopped back onto my bed, arms behind my head, staring at the ceiling.

Yeah. I'll wait. I'll train. I'll be ready.

Because when I do finally pick that skill?

I'll flip, kick, and acrobatically style on anyone who dares try to rob a middle schooler again.

{Amen, brother. Amen.}

Okay calm down hillbilly…well time to get ready for school.

(Scene: In the Driveway)

"What do you mean I can't walk to school?" I blinked at him, already having my backpack-on and halfway down the steps. My shoes literally touched the pavement.

Starfall, my longtime driver and occasional life coach at this point, stood by the car door, his expression somewhere between sheepish and serious. He was usually chill, but right now? Not a single smile in sight.

"I'm sorry, kid," he said, arms crossed, voice quieter than usual. "But after what's been going on… I can't let you walk to school anymore."

I blinked. "What's been going on? It's like a ten-minute walk"

I mean the birds were literally chirping a Looney Tunes song when I stepped outside.

"It's not about distance." He looked down the road, then back at me, lowering his voice. "It's about safety."

{Ten minutes of prime side quest potential now wasted. Shame.}

I waved him off. "Look, I love you, man, but what exactly is stopping me? Did my parents tell you to drive me?"

He hesitated. "Well… no."

{To be expected}

Shut up

"Okay then," I said slowly. "So if it wasn't them, what's with the sudden concern?"

He hesitated. I could practically hear the gears in his head stalling out.

"…Some people have gone missing in town and..," he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. " well It's probably nothing, but... things feel off."

I narrowed my eyes. "Off how?"

Starfall opened his mouth, then closed it again. Finally, after a second too long, he added something under his breath:

"…Some people are whispering the name Sombra again."

I froze.

"…What?"

"Sombra," he repeated. "It's just a nickname, some old rumor from like thirty years back. Unsolved crimes, people found dead, weird patterns. That name stopped circulating for decades… until now."

I stared at him.

No way. We found him.

{Oh boy. This is no longer a "maybe." This is a real threat}

"Some people have gone missing in the woods too… Look I'm not trying to scare you," Starfall said, his voice low now, like he regretted even bringing it up. "Just… get in the car, alright? Let me do my job."

I nodded, too stunned to argue, and climbed into the backseat.

The car door shut with a heavy thunk, but my mind was racing. Sombra. The Crystal Heart. The Quest.

Shit was getting real.

And whatever this Sombra was doing… .

{Soooo… still wanna walk to school tomorrow?}

"…Kinda wish I could go back to just getting mugged for Pokémon games."

{Too late now, chosen one. We have a shadow to hunt!}

Hell no!

(Scene: School entrance)

Well, that was a boring ride...

{Honestly? Mid.}

I stepped out of the car. Starfall gave me that "I'm watching you, kid" glance before pulling away.

"…Psst. Pssst."

"Who the f-" I spun around, instantly on edge, but it was just him.

Yup. The weird kid who asked me to join a definitely-not-fight-club club a few days ago.

He wore the same hoodie, same half-shady, half-too-cool expression like he knew something I didn't. He motioned for me to come over behind a column like this was some kind of black market Pokémon card trade.

"You got your answer?" he asked, tone low and dramatic.

I blinked. "Dude, where've you been? It's been, like… a few days. Thought you got abducted."

He smirked, like he'd been waiting for this moment. "Had to lay low. Club business. Things are heating up."

"…Club business?" I echoed, raising a brow. "You're a fight club. What do you do, square up with teachers?"

He leaned in closer, whispering, "We're not just a fight club."

I blinked again. "…Okay, now you sound like a multi-level marketing scheme."

He rolled his eyes, then pulled out a laminated card from his pocket.

The logo was two fists crossed over a pentagram with sparkles and what I'm pretty sure were spaghetti stains.

Equestrian Town Mythical Defense Club

"We keep the weird out. And the snacks in."

Est. 2003 – Probably. (Totally Not a Cult, Please Don't Report Us)

"...Snacks?"

He nodded seriously. "We're currently down to four club members, not counting me and some left. One became a theater kid. One died. The last one left to chase Bigfoot in gravity falls…"

{Respect.}

What what??

"..I mean... okay, but what does the club even do?"

He looked around like he was about to leak national secrets and whispered:

"We monitor weird activity. Stuff the school doesn't talk about. You know... spooky things. Glitched vending machines. Monsters, cursed textbooks, hallway banshees, that one teacher who's suspiciously too chill during fire drills."

He shoved a wrinkled map into my hands. It had messy handwriting, ketchup stains, and random circles."Possible Wendigo??"

"SOMBRA?!?!"

"Who stole lunchbox again (3rd time)"

I blinked. Okay that got my attention.

"This looks like it was made in Microsoft Paint during a caffeine crash."

He didn't even flinch. "Do you believe in monsters?"

"I believe this conversation is giving me brain damage."

"Good. That means your brain works. Sixth period. Room 3C. Knock twice, then once. Like a polite vampire."

Oh god.

{God help us all.}

(Scene: Storage Room 3C – AKA The Bunker)

(After school)

The hallway outside Room 3C was empty. Of course it was. The door looked like it hadn't been opened in a decade, paint chipped, "MOP BUCKETS ONLY" sign still hanging askew.

I raised my hand.

I knocked twice.

Pause.

Then once.

The door opened exactly three inches. A pair of eyes peeked out.

"…What's the passcode?"

…I have no password…

…{Use polite vampire?}

"…Polite vampire???"

The door creaked open and…

I wasn't ready.

Inside was chaos but like organized chaos. Posters of Pepe and Shrek in armor were plastered on the walls. Someone had built a conspiracy board titled:

WHO KEEPS REPLACING THE SCHOOL MILK WITH OAT MILK?

Another board read:

Today's Training: Demon Disarmament 101 & How Not to Get Possessed (Again)

There was a guy with a tinfoil hat staring intensely at a cracked iPad.

"Is this... a joke club?"

"We do not joke," said a girl holding a Nerf sword. "We warn."

Another person was scrolling through their Ipad, muttering: "This sound is cursed. I've listened to it 200 times and now I keep dreaming of potatoes."

I just stood there like:

"…What is this place?"

"It's a club," the original guy said. "We defend Equestria High from things nobody else sees."

"Like monsters?"

"Like cursed Books, a possessed bending machine, and one time a portal that spat out a rubber chicken that screamed 'Wazzzuuuppp!' every hour on the hour."

{Terrifying.}

"And what do you want from me?"

He pointed at a whiteboard titled:

POTENTIAL RECRUITS:

✅ Berry – Dodgeball ninja. Possibly magic. Slightly feral.

❌ Kevin – Ate all the Pop-Tarts and bit someone in karaoke.

❓Wallflower – Still unclear if real or just a collective hallucination.

"You're one of us now," he said, slapping a sticker on my chest that read:

"✨Certified Demon Slayer✨"

I blinked.

Then he handed me a Capri Sun and a bag of pretzels.

"…I'm in," I muttered, sipping dramatically.

{Congratulations. You've joined the only club in school where someone might say "Wendigo Tuesday" unironically.}

As I looked around at the chaos, the scribbled maps, the empty snack wrappers, the occasional flashlight left on for "vibes", one thing became clear.

{..You are the weird kid in school now}

Yep I am..

The place is surprisingly large.

Writer here

Here is chapter…Sorry I have school and stuff to do.

The minecraft movie is a solid 7/10!

Will do a rewrite…also yes this club does have weird stuff like the kids are…unique.

Yes this is officially an AU!! Gravity falls is a hint not sure If I will add it in the world though since the plot would be different. Miraculous could be added also as part of the world but having too many worlds would make the world complicated or I could just add the multiverse eventually…

Yea there is a fourth member, not sure who it will be but its between doctor whooves or cheese sandwich…You guys choose..
