Chapter 75 - Chapter 74: The Lightning Release Prodigy

The Uchiha genin whom Yagura had deemed a disgrace to the clan was, surprisingly, quite lucky.

Despite taking a direct hit to the face, reinforced by the Added-Weight Rock Technique, and being knocked unconscious with serious injuries, he still clung to life.

Losing a match wasn't the end of the world—there would always be a next time.

But losing one's life? That meant waiting for reincarnation, with no chance of being resurrected through Orochimaru's Edo Tensei.

After all, Kabuto was on his kill list.

Yagura tilted his head, waiting eagerly. There were still six matches left—where were his teammates?

The Konoha proctor, a skilled Earth Release user, quickly restored the arena, signaling the next fight.

"Match Eleven: Ringo Ameyuri vs. Akimichi Kōjun."

The moment her opponent's name was called, Ringo Ameyuri's sharp gaze locked onto the movement in the audience—specifically, the guy reacting to his own name being announced.

A Konoha genin. Plain. Unremarkable. And fat.

"Ugh, how boring."

Feeling that she had drawn the worst possible opponent, Ringo Ameyuri glanced enviously at Yagura.

His opponent had been much better.

She had already forgotten how she once looked down on Might Guy.

Who would have thought that someone dressed like a green turtle could unleash such terrifying taijutsu?

Yagura instantly understood her frustration and responded with an ambiguous smile.

You want to fight Might Guy? If you don't stop him from opening the Eight Gates, you'll be in for a world of pain.

But Ringo Ameyuri seemed to misinterpret his expression. She reached out and ruffled his hair.

After a moment, when Yagura merely dodged, wearing an expression that seemed to say, Why are you still here? Go fight already, she pouted and said, "Aren't you going to say something to me?"

What do you want me to say? This is going to be a total stomp.

After a few moments of deep thought, Yagura finally spoke under her expectant gaze: "Your opponent's surname is Akimichi. The Akimichi clan of Konoha possesses a secret technique called the Multi-Size Jutsu, which allows them to expand their bodies. Be cautious."

His soft, composed voice was serious as he analyzed the enemy's abilities.

Sigh.

That wasn't what she wanted to hear.

With an exasperated yet amused sigh, the red-haired girl chuckled, "You really are… I'll just take that as encouragement."

Yagura: (O_O)

Mukumo covered his mouth, chuckling, before extending his pale hand toward Ringo Ameyuri.

"Good luck."

"Oh!"

Her previous frustration vanished in an instant, and she energetically high-fived Mukumo.

"Thanks!"

By the time Yagura realized she had only wanted a simple word of encouragement, Ringo Ameyuri had already vaulted over the railing and into the arena.

"…Uh."

Mukumo patted Yagura's shoulder.

"Your clueless expression is pretty encouraging too."

Yagura: O.o

...

"One, two, three…"

Her sharp gaze swept across the spectators, taking note of the few promising opponents.

After watching the previous matches, she had identified only a handful worth paying attention to.

"But for now—"

Ringo Ameyuri's eyes finally landed on the massive figure standing across from her. "I'll save the fun ones for later. Let's wrap this up quickly."

Once both competitors signaled their readiness, Nara Shikaku raised his hand and announced,

"Match Eleven—Begin!"

Ringo Ameyuri calmly unsheathed her twin swords.

"Don't underestimate me!"

Though he hadn't said it aloud, the way she carried herself so casually had already infuriated Akimichi Kōjun.

Her teasing smirk only deepened as she glanced at his round belly.

"Fat pig."

"I'm bulky!"

With a surge of chakra, his stored body fat rapidly transformed, causing his entire body to balloon in size until he was nearly twice his original height.

"Akimichi Clan Secret Technique—Multi-Size Jutsu!"

Now an enormous sphere, he bounced into the air before slamming into the ground, rapidly rolling toward her.

"Human Boulder!"

"Well, this could be interesting."

The sheer force of the rolling attack stirred up strong winds.

Getting hit by that wouldn't be fun.

Slightly intrigued, Ringo Ameyuri's eyes gleamed as she crossed her swords before her.

"Lightning Release: Thunder Orbs."

Lightning gathered at the tips of her blades, forming two crackling spheres that she pulled apart, connected by jagged lightning chains.

She hurled them forward, and they struck the oncoming Human Boulder head-on!

The powerful lightning made his body shudder, disrupting his rolling trajectory, but his immense momentum quickly dissipated the attack's effects. With a slight turn, he barreled toward her once more—faster and stronger than before.

"So, that wasn't enough?"

Her interest piqued, Ringo Ameyuri leaped into the air, but the massive rolling form followed, bouncing high to intercept her.

The pressure of the oncoming attack whipped her twin ponytails around.

There was no doubt—getting hit by that would hurt.

Then, lightning crashed from above!

A bolt of lightning struck the massive ball mid-air, halting its advance momentarily.

Ringo Ameyuri's lips curled into a wicked grin as she reversed her grip on her sword.

With a twist of her body, she slashed through the air like a lightning bolt herself, landing gracefully on the ground as her blade whistled through the air.

...

Boom!

A puff of white smoke erupted behind her as something hit the ground—broken wooden logs.

Body Replacement Technique!

Hearing the sound, Ringo Ameyuri immediately turned.

"Hmph. Boring trick."

"Ahhh! Partial Multi-Size Jutsu!"

Akimichi Kōjun had used the smoke as cover, leaping high into the air. His arm swelled to several times its normal size before slamming down toward her!

Boom!!

The sheer force of the impact sent dust flying.

Among the few who clearly saw what had happened, Yagura's expression subtly shifted.

He had long been impressed by Ringo Ameyuri's lightning talent, but once again, he found himself thinking—

Not bad.

He had only briefly mentioned this technique in passing during their sparring sessions, yet she had already mastered it on her own.

Lightning Clone.

Though not a perfected version, it was enough to decide the match.

Unlike Kakashi's Lightning Clone, which infused shadow clones with the nature transformation of lightning, Ringo Ameyuri's technique was adapted from Water Clone Jutsu—substituting water with lightning.

While weaker than Shadow Clone Jutsu, it also consumed far less chakra.

As though stepping on a landmine, the moment Akimichi Kōjun made contact, 'Ringo Ameyuri' exploded into a snaking web of electricity that wrapped around his massive arm, spreading across his body.

To stabilize the unfamiliar jutsu, she had deliberately used minimal chakra—perhaps even less than her previous attack.

But even a fraction of a second was enough.

"You can't fool me with a Body Replacement."

As his body seized from the shock, Ringo Ameyuri appeared behind him like a crimson specter, spinning as she swung her blade.

"You're strong, but…"

A sharp whistle of steel—

Blood arced through the air.

"You picked the wrong opponent."
