Episode 70: "Echoes of Silence"

(Post-Qazi Fallout | Government Order | Team Fate)

---

[Prologue – 7 Days Later | Mumbai – Black Squad HQ]

Rain strikes the glass windows of the now-silent Black Squad headquarters. Echoes of the past—gunfire, laughter, shouts—seem to haunt the halls.

The once-bright strategic map table blinks a red warning:

"STATUS: UNIT DEACTIVATED – GOVT. MHA ORDER #424/25"

A slow shot moves across abandoned desks, unfinished coffee cups, blood-stained files... and then stops at ACP Sulaiman Qazi's chair, draped in the tricolor.

VO – Arjun Rathore:

"There are silences louder than war. And voids deeper than death."

---

[Scene 1 – Parliament Annexe | New Delhi – High-Level Internal Security Meeting]

A high-level panel of bureaucrats, security advisors, and home ministry officials sits in a sealed room. At the center—Murshad, now DGP Murshad, stands composed.

Home Secretary:

"While we acknowledge Black Squad's achievements, the recent escalation led by late ACP Qazi raises concerns about extrajudicial patterns."

Murshad (measured):

"With all due respect, sir, this wasn't rogue vigilantism. It was sanctioned heroism. Every law they followed. Every line they held."

Minister of Home Affairs:

"And yet, after 70 high-profile operations, 2 unsanctioned raids, 11 enemy casualties beyond protocol, and one officer's death by detonation, we must answer: Is Black Squad sustainable in peacetime?"

Murshad:

"They didn't ask for peace. They built it—block by block, bullet by bullet."

Silence.

The PMO Liaison clears her throat.

Liaison:

"Effective immediately… Black Squad is suspended. All active officers will be reassigned as per necessity. Headquarters sealed. Files archived. Case pending review."

Murshad's eyes burn, but he doesn't resist. He simply nods.

---

[Scene 2 – Sequence: "Where Are They Now?"]

Montage Score: A soft, haunting violin theme. A woman hums in the background—Zoya's voice—taken from a past interrogation scene.

– Arjun Rathore – Transferred to Pune Special Operations Cell

Arjun leads a high-stakes drug bust in Pune. His combat is raw, precise—but emotionally distant.

Post-mission, a young officer praises him.

Officer:

"Sir, that was next-level. What unit did you say you were from?"

Arjun (quietly):

"I was Black Squad... before the world got scared of its own protectors."

He walks away, leaving behind the busted criminals.

---

– Imran Wani – Assigned to Kashmir Vigilance Bureau

Snow falls gently as Imran interrogates a corrupt government officer. He's colder now—controlled.

Later, he's seen staring at Dal Lake, holding a photo of the team—Qazi at the center.

Imran (VO):

"He taught us to fight crime… but never become it. We held the line. Even when it bled."

---

– Zoya Khan – Resigned. Running Women's Protection NGO – Hyderabad

Children train under her, learning self-defense.

One girl asks,

Girl:

"Did you really arrest terrorists?"

Zoya nods.

Zoya (softly):

"And lost people I loved doing it."

That night, she lights a candle for Qazi. His ID badge lies in her drawer, next to a letter.

---

– Jay Mehra – Cyber Crimes Division – Lucknow

Jay sits in a digital lab, exposing a child trafficking ring through deep web traces.

A junior asks,

Junior:

"Why not go public, sir?"

Jay:

"Because shadows don't crave applause. They crave justice."

A picture of Black Squad is pinned on his monitor.

---

[Scene 3 – Delhi | DGP Murshad's Office – Private Chambers]

Murshad unlocks a secure drawer. Inside:

A blood-stained pen

A hard drive labeled "BLACK SQUAD CASES – LEVEL Z"

And Qazi's police badge.

He places them on the desk... one by one. Then picks up Qazi's old handwritten journal.

Murshad (reading Qazi's handwriting):

"When the law ties your hands, tie your soul to the people instead. Protect, even when permission is denied."

A tear runs down his cheek.

He picks up his phone. Dials.

Murshad:

"This is DGP Murshad. Keep the Cold Files on hold. Let the silence breathe a little longer…"

---

[Scene 4 – Mumbai | Black Squad HQ – Sealed]

A thick chain locks the main gate. A rusted nameplate reads: "BLACK SQUAD – HONOR. LAW. SHADOW."

Arjun arrives alone. He walks through the dusted halls.

He sees bullet holes, cracked glass, blood from past raids. Every wall echoes a memory.

He reaches Qazi's chair. Places a white carnation on it.

Arjun (broken):

"We weren't just cops… we were his oath."

He stands straight. Salutes. Then turns and walks out as the final power cut drops the HQ into darkness.

---

[Final Scene – Fade Out]

Voiceover (Zoya):

"They feared us when we wore the law like armor. But one day... the city will burn again. And only shadows will answer."

Black screen. Text fades in:

> BLACK SQUAD

Temporarily Deactivated

Fate of Justice — On Pause.
