Chapter 65 - Chapter 63: A New Task

Sakiya Kihana stood atop the Hokage Monument, overlooking the vast expanse of Konoha.

Her small face was serious, eyes sharp as the wind toyed with a stubborn strand of her hair, making it sway playfully.

She sighed.

"This world is so boring... Humans are so boring."

With a dramatic motion, she covered her left eye with one hand and extended the other toward Konoha, fingers clawed as if grasping the entire village.

"A world like this… Humans like these… They don't deserve to exist!"

Sakiya tore off her blindfold.

Her left pupil, dark blue and glowing like a starry sky, radiated an overwhelming brilliance.

And then—

She shouted into the heavens:

"Collapse! Fall, world! Fall, humanity!"

"Under the light of my Death Eye, all things shall end! Death is the only fate!"

She lifted her gaze skyward.

Through her Death Eye, the world shifted—turning into a gray expanse of lifelessness, etched with endless lines of death.

She reached out.

And the world began to break apart.

A pulse of blue energy rippled from her eye, distorting space itself.

Everything shattered.

The sky split.

The earth cracked.

Waves of land surged like tsunamis.

In a single instant, Konoha was erased—swept away by the sheer force of nature's wrath.

Mountains crumbled.

Storms raged, piercing through the heavens.

If someone looked from space, they would see—

The planet's atmosphere unraveling.

Gravity faltering.

The core of the planet losing its heat.

The world was dying.

And at the center of it all, a lone girl floated in midair, silently watching.

One of her pupils glowed blue, the other red.

The destroyer of the world.

Her expression was empty—neither joy nor sadness in her gaze.

She whispered to herself:

"Yes… this world is truly beautiful when it dies."

"Such a—"

SNAP!

A sudden sensation broke through.

She felt something slap lightly against her face.

Her eyelids fluttered.

Slowly, she opened her eyes.

Above her, the sky was a perfect, unbroken blue.

Her thoughts were hazy, reality still settling in.

And then—

"Sakiya, didn't you say you'd practice with me?"

A familiar voice.

Her gaze shifted.

A golden ponytail came into view.

Sakiya blinked.

It was Ino.

Still groggy, Sakiya wiped her eyes and muttered,

"The world… was the world destroyed?"

Ino rubbed her forehead, letting out a sigh.

"Don't say such terrifying things when you're half-asleep."

Sakiya Kihana's eyelids drooped as she mumbled,

"Oh~ so the world isn't destroyed."

Ino's eye twitched.

"Wait… are you disappointed? You were definitely disappointed just now! Don't tell me you actually wanted to destroy the world?!"

Sakiya thought about it for a moment.

"Hmm… Not really."

Ino's mouth twitched in disbelief.

Did she just hesitate just now? Is she seriously thinking about this?!

With a resigned sigh, Ino extended her hand.

"Come on, get up. Let's train together."

Sakiya wordlessly reached out, placing her hand in Ino's.

Ino grabbed hold and pulled her up—only for Sakiya to lean forward and collapse into her arms.

"Hey!" Ino huffed, wrapping her arms around Sakiya instinctively.

"What's this now? Do you actually expect me to carry you?"

Sakiya lowered her head, glanced sideways, then looked up at Ino with a serious expression—and nodded.

Ino stared for a second, then shoved her away.

"Enough of that! Get moving. We're training."

Sakiya let out a halfhearted sigh.

"Oh~ fine."

She silently followed as Ino led the way.

---

Not far off, Shikamaru and Chōji lay sprawled on the ground, watching with exasperation.

Shikamaru let out a deep sigh, his voice heavy with regret.

"Ino~ you promised we'd just hang out. How did this turn into training?"

Ino crossed her arms, her expression completely serious.

"Because training is the most fun!"

Shikamaru's face fell. He flopped back onto the ground.

"What a waste of my rare free time..."

Chōji, munching on a bag of chips, nodded in agreement.

---

A little distance away, under Ino's directive, Sakiya stepped forward.

A glowing circle of energy hovered and spun around her feet.

Her voice rang out, dramatic and commanding:

"Fleeting world, abyss of sin…

…Death's Darkness—Manifest!"

A burst of vibrant energy erupted, swirling around Sakiya as she and Ino launched into battle training.

---

Meanwhile, Konoha remained in a state of uncertainty.

With the Hokage seat vacant, the village awaited its new leader, someone who would restore order and rebuild after the devastation.

For now, with the village still recovering, missions were limited, and even some Jōnin were reassigned to assist in stabilizing Konoha's affairs.

Konoha remained on high alert, not just for reconstruction but also to prevent other villages from taking advantage of their weakened state.

For a short while, Sakiya and the others enjoyed some rare leisure—until the village suddenly became lively again.

The reason? Naruto had returned with Tsunade.

Sakiya observed the scene with curiosity.

So they really convinced Tsunade to return... but how?

In the original timeline, she knew how things played out, but this was different.

Once Tsunade arrived, she wasted no time implementing drastic changes, and within days, Konoha's chaotic state had noticeably improved.

Sakiya couldn't deny it—Tsunade was a force to be reckoned with.

---

That day, Chihiro called Sakiya out.

Along with her were Tsuchiya Tsukakami and Sakuragi.

Sakiya strutted forward dramatically, looking both smug and ridiculous.

"Hmph! I knew it! My 'Eye of Death' is about to shine once again! Soon, the world will be engulfed by its power!"

Chihiro laughed, unfazed by Sakiya's theatrics.

"This time, Lady Tsunade personally summoned us for a mission. She called us by name."

For Chihiro, this was huge. Tsunade was her idol—not just hers, but for most of Konoha's ninja.

Being personally selected filled her with indescribable excitement.

Sakuragi adjusted his glasses.

"Fifth Hokage, huh?"

Technically, Tsunade was still an acting Hokage, but everyone knew there was no turning back now.

Tsuchiya grinned excitedly.

"Ah~ Hokage-sama summoning us personally?! Now this is getting interesting!"

---

Hokage's Office

Tsunade sat in the Hokage's chair, her gaze calm but sharp as she looked over the assembled team.

The room fell into silence.

Her eyes drifted from one person to the next… before settling on the blindfolded girl.

Sakiya met Tsunade's gaze fearlessly, refusing to look away.

"Death condensation—"

"Mmmph!"

Chihiro swiftly covered Sakiya's mouth, giving Tsunade an apologetic smile.

"Haha… um, Tsunade-sama, please don't mind her. Yashin can be a bit… dramatic."

Before she could finish, Tsunade raised a hand, cutting her off.

"It's fine. I won't hold it against a kid."

But internally…

Wait a second.

Did I just get pranked?

Kakashi had praised this girl's strength non-stop, but looking at her now, Tsunade was struggling to see it.

She looks… kind of ridiculous.

Still, she trusted Kakashi wouldn't blatantly lie. If she couldn't sense anything from Sakiya, that only meant…

She's hiding it.

Or, as the old saying went, "Never judge a book by its cover."

---

Tsunade got straight to the point.

"Your mission is critical. You'll be escorting Suna's prisoners and their Jinchūriki as part of the negotiations with the Sand delegation."

Chihiro, Tsukakami, and Sakuragi stiffened in shock.

Only Sakiya remained indifferent.

Huh?

Something about her expression seemed off—but when Tsunade looked closer, she realized…

This girl wasn't calm.

She was zoning out.

A vein twitched on Tsunade's forehead.

She's… completely lost in thought?!

Deciding it wasn't worth the headache, Tsunade simply ignored her and continued.

"The Sand Village has agreed to peace terms, but their final condition is the return of their prisoners and Jinchūriki."

Seeing how serious the others looked, she added:

"You won't be the only escort team. There are three others—Kakashi's Team 7, Asuma's squad, and Might Guy's team."

"Kakashi will be leading the mission. You're familiar with him, right?"

Chihiro's face brightened instantly.

"Of course! If Kakashi-senpai is in charge, that's reassuring."

Tsunade nodded and continued outlining the mission details before dismissing them.

As she watched them leave, she fell into deep thought.

---

For such an important mission, sending only four teams wasn't ideal.

But the reality was, her resources were stretched thin.

She hadn't fully gained control over the ANBU yet.

And as for Danzo's ROOT division…

Not a chance.

Even Kakashi's team was a personal request—mainly because he insisted Sakiya was a valuable asset.

Tsunade rested her chin on her hand, staring out the window at Konoha.

"Old man… you really left me a mess to clean up."
