"What?" Nicklaus replied lazily elbows hung on the car window his fingers resting in between his brows obviously in deep thought seizing the little moment of rest he had."your cousin is getting married today"
"I Know" Nicklaus grumpily replied wondering why mark was telling him again when he is the one who brought the invitation to him.His boss clearly didn't know what he was about to tell him.He exhaled deeply before dropping the bomb "The bride is miss Scarlett Hills" The air in the car changed from chilling to deadly the instant the words came out of his lips.
Nicklaus eyes slowly opened revealing his dark eyes had flames of rage swirling within them."what..did... you.....just...say?"
Mark shakily repeated it handing over a his tablet to Nicklaus photos of Scarlett and Anthony displayed one after another.Nicklaus felt his chest tighten with extreme rage just by merely seeing the photos,she smiled so brightly in the photo with Anthony kissing her cheek.He swiped further to see more photos each one more romantic than the last portraying happiness.He was deeply pained
"Turn the car around and head to the secret base"Nicklaus commanded in an authoritative tone leaving no room for question.Mark obediently did as his boss ordered.The secret base was where they handled most of their dangerous activities dealt with enemies and prepare for mafia dealings.
Whatever his boss was going to do won't be good. Nicklaus chuckled darkly clenching his fists to keep his rage in check."If she is gonna marry someone else,Fine! but after he's had her enough.
Scarlett POV
My back ached from sitting still for hours now while my face was being painted by several makeup artist, Courtesy of Lia."Don't do that miss! You might ruin your makeup" The head make up artist scolded when I bent my back to trying to stretch my back a little.
"There! you look amazing ma'am" the girl exclaimed after she was done an hour later I sighed in relief that the makeup was finally done.A wow left my lips at my reflection in the mirror my eyelashes looked a few inches longer,my lips painted pastel pink I know am beautiful but now I looked gorgeous my wedding gown was mermaid cut adorned with crystals and pearls the gown flowed behind me coveting the ground two feet from where I sat. I'II definitely need help with it when it's time to walk the aisle.
"You look amazing my dear you are the most beautiful bride I have seen all my years of attending weddings come take a picture with me I wanna make the photo my new wallpaper" Lia gushed enthusiastcly holding her phone up to take a selfie of us both.I couldn't help but think of if this attitude if hers would change once her son and I were married.Would be great if she does not.
"Hold on am getting a call" Lia ran out to receive her call.I was finally left alone. the makeup crew had left as soon as they finished their job. I sat in front of the mirror admiring my reflection while I took deep breaths to calm myself.
"Clang!" I heard the sound of something falling. I was startled my eyes darted around the room and saw nothing unusual.I busied myself by scrolling through the internet where numerous news of the wedding were posted.I felt a presence with me in the room I just wasn't feeling safe.I stood up and went for the door.A handkerchief covered my nose the minute I reached for the door knob I struggled to scream and free myself to no avail my vision blurring and blurring until everything went dark.
Nicklaus removed his mask and gazed at the woman in his arms looking like a goddess in a wedding gown to get married to another man.He brought his hand up to her face tracing her eyebrows to her nose and then her lips."boss you've got three minutes to get out" one of his men said through an earpiece.Nicklaus wore back his mask carried Scarlett over his shoulder and climbed out the window through a ladder.
He took her into a truck parked in front of the hotel. They had come in the guise of a cleaning crew hired by hotel,they burst the water pipes as and took the place of the actual cleaning crew that was supposed to be there."To the airport" Nicklaus commanded.
"Yes boss"
Lia came back to the room and found it empty she called out Scarlett's name but got no answer.she searched the bathroom, wardrobe and beneath the bed.A sly smile played on her lips but immediately fell when she realized something,she ransacked the dresser top and inside the drawer shelves but didn't see what she was looking for. "Damn fools!"she angrily muttered and dial a number on her phone yelling as soon as the person received "you idiots!, I freaking told you to drop a note in her handwriting!" She breathed to calm herself."Anyway,where is she?"
"We came but we didn't see her in the room" the man replied with a shaky voice.
"Huh....? What are you saying?" Lia didn't yet understand
"Am saying we didn't kidnap her.she must have run away or something but we have nothing to do with it" the man clearly explained. Lia's eyes darkened immediately her heart racing in fear"WHAT!!!"
