Frederick looked into Aric's eyes. He tried to see if Aric was bluffing and just wanted to push him into speaking, but that was not the case. Far from it, he could tell Aric was genuinely speaking his mind.
Frederick finally gave in and spoke, "What is it that you want to know?"
"Let's start with where you are from?" Aric asked.
"I'm from a town close to the forest, Ravenhold," Frederick responded, making sure he kept to the question asked and didn't give out any information that was not asked for.
"I see, then the next question. You lead a force of over fifty men. Only someone of relatively high status should be able to do that, so what's your status?" Aric asked.
"I'm the Baron of Ravenhold, and have been for over ten years now," Frederick said.
"I see, that makes sense," Aric said and then kept quiet, but he wasn't doing nothing—he was using appraisal to tell the strength of the men.
