The conversation left Oberyn conflicted. On one hand, Rav insisted that Oberyn come along - on the other, Ezra was clear that he wanted Oberyn to stay behind, where it was safer.
"You're still considering your choices," Rav said with a calculated stare. Even inebriated by the Calico herb, he was still sharp as ever.
"Of course," Oberyn said. But his preference was clear - of course he wanted to go.
"I worry you'll be no safer if you stay behind than if you come with us," Rav explained. "I have a sinking feeling you might try to do something stupid if I leave you back, like hunting the Magician of Thorns by yourself with Deek."
"Wh-" Oberyn started, but it was too late to feign surprise.
His shoulders slumped. The Ferin was too wise for his own good.
"Damn, Rav."
