Chapter 41 - A nightmare

Twenty years ago.

Luther Residence.

A thunderous night with dense, brooding rain.

A seven-year-old boy leans heavily against his bed, eyes on the window pane drenched from the rain, his lips pressed tightly together.

Because of a previous incident involving a rainy night and a kidnapping, he harbors an inexplicable fear of such weather.

With every thunderclap, his small fists clench tighter.

In his pure eyes, there is a hint of fear. In the past, his mother would accompany him during such weather.

But now, his mother was suffering from a serious condition known as depression, confining herself to her room all day, needing persuasion to even eat or drink, leaving her unable to care for him.

As for his father. He hadn't been home for some time, his mother told him that his father had another family elsewhere.

Thus, on nights like these, all he could do was to keep his eyes open until dawn.

Thinking this, the little boy buries his head even lower.
