Anna didn't fully understand why she agreed to all this. One moment, she was planning on living in the forest in seclusion. Good thing she didn't, considering the very, very large and camouflaged Arachnid that she could barely blow the limb off of. She never once thought it was a good idea to join others. Now that the notification talks about dungeons and all that other shit she honestly couldn't be more surprised if the system thingy implemented other rules or things to make it more like a game or DnD. And being alone in such "Games," She would die if she were alone, at least with how she isn't a fighter.
Anna and Greyson are currently cutting through the forest to head to a small town, or what Greyson calls a small town, to see if his friends are still alive. Anna wanted to say no, but knowing what it is like to lose people you care about, she caved in and agreed to join up with his friends. Then, the notifications about updates arrived during their travels. Before they were even done traveling the system, which is what they have been calling the screen, because the name keeps glitching out and showing as weird symbols. They learned that the system was very much like a game, although it isn't kind, as one of its notifications had said, just two of its many sentences. You are to provide entertainment and worth to the greater multiverse. If proven otherwise, your planet will be recycled for resources.
However, this part wasn't what Anna and Greyson focused on. The updates were the requirements for the planetary quest. After encountering the abomination of a spider, Greyson and Anna took a break to review the complete system update.
"I don't get it." (Greyson)
Greyson huffed as he spoke, chewing on the jerky Anna offered him.
"Don't get it?" (Anna)
"It makes no sense to the point they should add a help feature, but instead we get gibberish like you said about us having to learn for ourselves." (Greyson)
[To all participating in @#*$(@ the help option shall not be open till other motals on your planet or yourself discover features of your integration.]
"Well, I could see what help information is available." (Anna)
"What would even be available? It's not like we have learned anything we don't know much about yet." (Greyson)
"It says us and other humans, although I'm not quoting it exactly, maybe when someone learns a class or information on said class, that class becomes available to learn about in the help search. Maybe someone learned magic, so the help feature might tell us how we can learn it." (Anna)
"And that's why I say that you are Oracle." (Greyson)
"You're not Batman; he is also supposed to be a genius. Besides, I doubt you want to be a brawler mixed with rogue aspects. Also, once more, I'm not a genius. I may be analytical, but that doesn't make me a genius." (Anna)
"You don't know that maybe I do." (Greyson)
"Do you?" (Anna)
"Okay fine, you have a point. " (Greyson)
When the topic trailed off, Anna and Greyson stood up once more.
"Once more, let us leave the spider in the dust." (Greyson)
"Im just glad it isn't smaller." (Anna)
Speaking out loud, Greyson looked at her like she had grown two heads and was horrified.
"What?" (Anna)
"You pretty much said that you're okay with a spider being that huge." (Greyson)
"Oh, right, you don't like spiders." (Anna)
"Don't like more like if i could I would torch the species with mosquitoes and their disgusting rule because nothing should look like either of those." (Greyson)
"I get your point." (Anna)
"Are you sure, because I don't think I could trust a spider lover." (Greyson)
Anna could tell Greyson was messing around, but he still seemed worried about that being a fact, not a passing thought.
"No, I don't like spiders or want a pet one. If it were smaller, it would have had an easier time moving through the trees, and we probably would have died if that were the case." (Anna)
"Oh." (Greyson)
"Anyways, we should start running though. I don't know about you, but I am pretty sure with how it acted, it was a female, and I don't want to deal with a possibly smaller but more aggressive spider." (Anna)
Greyson paled at the thought and bolted in a run. Anna followed as they dashed through the forest to escape the other, possibly giant spiders.
